The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Thiago Cunha and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice defenses there by Rivera.
It seemed like Rivera was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Rivera throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Zakharov.
The fighters circle momentarily. Rivera darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Zakharov misses with a combination
and Rivera counters with a low kick, right behind Zakharov 's knee.
Malcolm Rivera seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Zakharov swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Rivera tries to score with a low kick but Zakharov moves his leg out of the way.
Zakharov throws a quick counter head kick but Rivera was just out of range.
Rivera feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Zakharov sprawling to the canvas! Zakharov rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Rivera finish him?!
Zakharov is rocked!
It looks like Leonid Zakharov has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Zakharov misses the body punch
and Rivera counters with a huge right that knocks Zakharov out cold! Rivera is running around with a crazed look on his face - you can see how much that meant to him!

After winning the bout, Malcolm Rivera thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
