PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight kickboxing rules bout between Ngozi Chai (ranked 563 p4p, 23691 weight class) and Chinza Machida (ranked 69 p4p, 530 weight class). Machida has chosen Best Way To Die as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Chai throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Machida has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Machida and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Machida throws out a loose jab but Chai uses good head movement to avoid it.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Machida checks a leg kick.

and Machida connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Chai is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.

and Machida counters with a good low kick that Chai was not able to check.
Chai throws a wild body kick that Machida sees coming a mile off.
Machida tries a quick counter leg kick but Chai is wise to it.

Chai throws a chopping leg kick but Machida manages to avoid taking any serious damage.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Ngozi Chai.
Well Chai has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
