Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Glen Hoddle (ranked 84 p4p, 672 weight class) and Zabit Magomedov (ranked 14 p4p, 88 weight class). Zabit Magomedov has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 18 - 1, fighting out of London, Zabit Magomedov!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Chris Edwards and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Magomedov throws a jab but it's blocked by Hoddle.
Magomedov throws a nice outside leg kick.
Hoddle misses with a series of wild punches.
Magomedov throws out a leg kick but Hoddle moves out of range and Magomedov only half commits.
Hoddle throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Magomedov slips a jab from Hoddle.
It seemed like Magomedov was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Hoddle throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
A shot to the liver by Hoddle. Beautiful body shot.
Magomedov looks to land a left hand but Hoddle moved out of range nicely.
Magomedov slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Hoddle looks to land a body kick but Magomedov moved away.

Hoddle drives through with a takedown into guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Hoddle postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Hoddle is stalling in the full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hoddle is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hoddle accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

It looks like Zabit Magomedov has been cut.

Hoddle is working Magomedov over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Hoddle is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Hoddle looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Magomedov can do anything to dispel that myth.

That has opened up Zabit Magomedov's cut even more.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Zabit Magomedov's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Glen Hoddle!
In his post fight interview, Glen Hoddle started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
