Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the super heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 10 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Tobias Ahearn!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Takeda Shida!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, James Ackerman and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ahearn tries to clinch but Shida moves out of range.
Ahearn throws a jab when Shida was well out of range.
Ahearn throws out a loose jab but Shida uses good head movement to avoid it.
A swing and a miss from Shida.
Ahearn scores with a shot to the body.
Ahearn takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Shida slips under a jab.
Shida misses with a hook
and Ahearn counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Shida misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Shida slips a straight right by Ahearn.
Shida moves out of range of the strikes.
The crowd cheers as Ahearn lands an impressive looking overhand right. Shida doesn't seem phased though.

It looks like Tobias Ahearn has been cut.
Ahearn throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
A little jabbing left from Shida on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

Shida looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Ahearn throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Shida sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Shida swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Ahearn throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Ahearn is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.

Ahearn fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Shida, pushing him back against the cage.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Shida connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Ahearn momentarily.
Shida throws a jab but it's blocked by Ahearn.

We've been told by Ahearn's head coaches at ubergym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Tobias Ahearn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Ahearn is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Shida can do to turn this around?

Shida closes the distance and lands a crisp combination that knocks Ahearn out cold! Ahearn corner are devastated, head in hands behind our commentary position. Poor guys.

An out of breath Takeda Shida thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
