Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chris Kane (ranked 1169 p4p, 652 weight class) and Svend Thorsby (ranked 39 p4p, 16 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Chris Kane! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 25 - 20 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Svend Thorsby! The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Daniel Bishop and Phil Schofield.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Thorsby is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Kane. A low kick from Kane is predictable there and Thorsby counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Kane thinking. We've been told by Kane's head coaches at Mentor Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. A nice leg kick from Kane, right into the meat of the thigh.
Thorsby moves away from the strike by Kane. That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Kane crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Thorsby - the referee stops the clock and Kane gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Thorsby. Kane manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Kane rushes Thorsby and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. A head punch blocked on the inside by Kane. Kane misses with a hook from the clinch. Thorsby escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Thorsby blocks a leg kick. Kane tries to clinch up letting Thorsby counter with a right hand. Thorsby scores with a one two! Kane had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Kane showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Thorsby.
Kane looks to score with a jab to the body but Thorsby is just out of range. Kane takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Kane looks to throw the jab but Thorsby is out of range.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nice uppercut lands for Kane. That snapped Thorsby's head back.
The fighters circling - Kane throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Thorsby ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kane moves away. Kane ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Kane looks for the body kick but Thorsby saw that one coming. Kane drives through and clinches with Thorsby against the cage.
Kane tries to work over Thorsby's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Kane misses with a punch on the inside.

A short right from Kane on the inside. Thorsby scores with an uppercut up the middle. Thorsby blocks a body shot from Kane. Thorsby takes a shot to the head. Kane lands a nice elbow from the clinch. Thorsby prevents a body shot from Kane. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Thorsby escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

A jab from Thorsby misses. Kane uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Thorsby.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Thorsby bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Kane misses with a low kick as Thorsby jumps back. Thorsby let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land. Nice defenses there by Thorsby. Kane connects with a body shot that sends Thorsby's belly button to the back. Kane blocks a head kick by Thorsby.
Thorsby misses with a lunging right hand
and Kane counters with a nice uppercut. A combination from Thorsby does no damage. Thorsby swings for the body but Kane moves out of range.
Thorsby ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kane moves away. Thorsby darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Kane slips a jab from Thorsby. Kane swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Kane lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. Thorsby connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Kane will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Thorsby bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Kane's head backwards. A slow jab from Thorsby misses its intended target.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kane is looking to clinch. A looping hook to the body misses from Kane. Thorsby does a little dance to reset his feet. Thorsby throws a sloppy body shot
and Kane makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Thorsby really felt that one! Kane connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Thorsby's hands. A cross from Kane lands. Kane is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Kane staying out of range there. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Kane lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Thorsby has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Thorsby and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Kane lands a jab to the nose. Chris Kane seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kane slips a straight right by Thorsby. Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Kane! Thorsby is out on his feet! Kane rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Thorsby is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Thorsby is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Chris Kane! Chris Kane decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
