PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kwame Nti (ranked 331 p4p, 402 weight class) and Boris Krylov (ranked 45 p4p, 52 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Krylov scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Nti tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Krylov manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Nti takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Krylov bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Krylov throws out a counter right but Nti avoids it with no problem.

and Nti connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Krylov goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.

Boris Krylov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

As Krylov tries to get set, Nti tries to push him back and clinch up but Krylov manages to avoid the attempt.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Nti moves away from the strike by Krylov.
Nti avoids a kick to the body.
Nti tries to counter with a takedown but Krylov is quick to defend against it.
Krylov swings for the body but Nti moves out of range.

Krylov pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

Krylov tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Nti's elbow.
Nti lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Krylov backwards.

Nti goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Kwame Nti's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.

and Nti counters with a straight right hand.
Krylov throws a leg kick but Nti moved away.
Krylov loads up on a big right hand but Nti slips the punch.
Krylov has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Nti uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Krylov.

Nti has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Krylov clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Krylov tries to roll but Nti sticks to his back.
Krylov is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Nti keeps control of the position easily here as Krylov tries to buck him off.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Krylov is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Nti seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Krylov for as long as he can get away with.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Krylov sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Krylov keeps control of the position for the meantime.
