Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Elrey Dorado (ranked 7 p4p, 47 weight class) and Jim Babcock (ranked 2 p4p, 8 weight class). Dorado comes into the arena with MY STORY blaring out of the sound system. Babcock has chosen Raiders Attack Vault City as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Elrey Dorado!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jim Babcock!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Matheus Silva and Thiago Cunha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dorado lands the left hand.
Babcock takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Babcock fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Dorado manages to avoid it.
Babcock throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Dorado throws a body punch but Babcock moves out of range.

Babcock misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Dorado.
Jim Babcock seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dorado dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

We've been hearing reports that Dorado has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Dorado drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Babcock dives on top into guard.

Dorado is trying to stick to Babcock's back but Babcock is turning into Dorado. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Dorado's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Babcock.

That was a close round but I would say that Elrey Dorado will probably get the nod.

Dorado is really struggling to control Babcock but he's trying to hold on to the position.
