Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Tauski Mountain!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Albert Achterberg and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Beardsley swings away with a body shot that misses
and Mountain counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Mountain avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
It seemed like Mountain was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
A head kick by Mountain misses
and Beardsley counters with a nice uppercut.
Mountain uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Beardsley.
Beardsley thuds a left hand into Mountain's body.

Mountain on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Mountain was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.

I was talking to Beardsley's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Beardsley cracks Mountain with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

The cut above Tauski Mountain's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Mountain's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Beardsley connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Mountain scrambles back to his feet.

Tauski Mountain's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
Beardsley tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Mountain manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Mountain! But no joy.
No joy there for Mountain, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Well Beardsley has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

A very excited looking Peter Beardsley rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
