Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mad Panda!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jarron Faith!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, William Peck and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Faith throws out a loose jab but Panda uses good head movement to avoid it.
Panda with a lazy takedown attempt
and Faith counters with a single leg into guard. Panda didn't expect that.
Panda can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Faith controls the pace.
Panda escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Faith gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Faith working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Panda is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Panda working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Faith doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Faith manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Faith controls from within his opponent's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Faith trying to control the position from guard on top but Panda is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Panda is trying to keep Faith in close.
Faith engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Panda has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Panda is looking for a triangle but Faith pushes his legs off easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Panda is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Faith has his hands clasped together but Panda extends and breaks Faith's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Panda.
