Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pyay Thuta (ranked 58 p4p, 176 weight class) and Stoner Steve (ranked 14 p4p, 28 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Pyay Thuta!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 27 - 18 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Stoner Steve!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Hirohito Nitta and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Steve uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Thuta.
A head kick misses from Thuta.
Steve swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Steve throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Steve looks to score with a jab to the body but Thuta is just out of range.
A quick step to the side and Thuta tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Steve connects with a single shot there.
Thuta slips a straight right by Steve.
It looked like Thuta wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Thuta displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Steve throws out the jab.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

We've been told by Thuta's head coaches at Hare of the Dog Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Steve throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Steve's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Thuta connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Steve scrambles back to his feet.
Thuta staying out of range there.
Steve stalks Thuta and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Thuta's face. Thuta staggers backwards, shaken.
It looks like Pyay Thuta has been cut.
A decent looking cross lands there for Thuta.
Thuta throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Thuta drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Thuta takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Thuta throws a series of punches but Steve avoids them all with ease.

and Thuta counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Steve fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Steve closes the distance and clinches.
Steve tries to work over Thuta's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Steve lands with a left to the head.
Steve lands on the inside with an uppercut.
A nice right hand lands inside from Steve.
Steve misses with a body punch.
Steve digs a right hand into Thuta's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Thuta's gas tank.

Stoner Steve dominated that round.

Steve lands a big right hand that sends Thuta crashing to the mat! Steve stays standing though and waves Thuta back to his feet!

Steve works Thuta's body with a nice hook.
Thuta throws a hook to the side of Steve's head but Steve sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Steve stuns Thuta with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Thuta tries to clinch there but Steve circles away.
Steve has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
