PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Worf Mogh (ranked 304 p4p, 597 weight class) and Klaus Chugman (ranked 20 p4p, 46 weight class). Mogh comes to the cage accompanied by Gimme The Loot. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Worf Mogh!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 51 - 47 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Klaus Chugman!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Hirohito Nitta and Ren Mimura.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chugman tries for a takedown but Mogh circles away easily
and Chugman takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Mogh, as that shot connected.
Mogh darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Chugman throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Mogh swings and misses with a hook to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Chugman feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mogh definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Chugman won't allow Mogh to sweep him here.

Mogh is trying to control the position but Chugman postures up.

Mogh throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Chugman escapes and throws Mogh's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Mogh can't do much from the bottom here.
Mogh is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Chugman is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Mogh is looking for a sweep.

Chugman tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Chugman wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mogh keeps working.

Mogh is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Chugman is one step ahead and moves to full mount!

Mogh has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Chugman can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Chugman wants to control from the top but Mogh keeps moving.

Chugman is looking to pass into half guard but Mogh pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Mogh is in guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Worf Mogh will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

A looping hook to the body misses from Mogh. Chugman does a little dance to reset his feet.
Chugman throws a lazy right hand but Mogh sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Mogh changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Chugman tries to close the distance and clinch up but Mogh swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Chugman throws a big shot that misses.
Mogh throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Chugman tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Mogh swivels and escapes.

and Mogh counters with a single leg into guard. Chugman didn't expect that.

Mogh looking to sit in guard and control but Chugman gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Chugman postures up and lands a big shot to Mogh's brow.

Mogh working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Chugman doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Chugman manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Mogh will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Chugman tries to clinch up but Mogh circles away and keeps his distance.
Mogh scores with a jab to the body.
Mogh moves out of range as Chugman strikes.
Chugman fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Mogh half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Mogh listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.

and Mogh lands a stunning uppercut that sends Chugman to the mat!

Chugman is rocked!
Worf Mogh has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Klaus Chugman.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Chugman is trying to get back to full guard.
Mogh wants to control but Chugman is keeping him busy.
Mogh is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Mogh is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Chugman can do to turn this around?

Chugman is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

Worf Mogh is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Mogh is trying to control Chugman's posture but Chugman avoids it.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Worf Mogh.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Mogh, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
