Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rodrigo Carioni (ranked 749 p4p, 452 weight class) and Pavel Kostov (ranked 95 p4p, 55 weight class). Kostov has chosen Гио Пика - Буйно Голова as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Carioni looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Kostov wants to counter with a clinch but Carioni pushes him away.

Rodrigo Carioni seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Carioni takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Kostov is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Carioni had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into mush.

Kostov has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.

Carioni rushes in with a sloppy looking punch

Kostov throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Carioni on the side of the head.
Carioni is rocked!
It looks like Rodrigo Carioni has been cut.
Kostov feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Carioni sprawling to the canvas! Carioni rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Kostov finish him?!
Oh Carioni is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Carioni throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Kostov counters with a huge left! Carioni is in big trouble! He's backing up but Kostov isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Carioni from any more damage. A dominating finish by Kostov!

A relieved looking Pavel Kostov thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
