Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ibragim Said (ranked 2313 p4p, 3038 weight class) and Bam Bam Joshy (ranked 207 p4p, 266 weight class). Said comes into the arena with 3 Nights blaring out of the sound system. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Taro Takaoka and Shigeki Sano.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A big right from Said misses.
Joshy tries to counter by closing the distance.

Joshy swings for the body but Said moves out of range.
Said throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
The fighters circle momentarily. Joshy darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Said takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Said swings away with a leg kick that misses.
A telegraphed right hand from Joshy misses the target.
Said was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Said looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Said throws a solid leg kick but Joshy takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Said.
Said is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Joshy.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Said throws a hook to the side of Joshy's head but Joshy sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Said swings for the body but Joshy moves out of range.

A little feinted left hand from Said on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Bam Bam Joshy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Said slips a jab from Joshy.
Said just misses with a punch to the body.
Joshy has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Said finds it's way round the side to connect with Joshy's head.

As Joshy backs away, Said returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Said, as that shot connected.
Said lands a leg kick that knocks Joshy off balance momentarily.
Joshy throws a hook but Said blocks it.
Joshy throws a low kick but it's checked well by Said.

Joshy throws a nice outside leg kick.

Said pivots, looking for a leg kick but Joshy is out of range and Said settles back down.

Said feints and then cracks Joshy's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Joshy down.
Said paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

Joshy lands a jab to Said's midsection.
Nice shot lands for Joshy.
Joshy swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Said counters with a good, hard body kick but Joshy shrugs it off.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Said cracks Joshy with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Said throws a looping overhand right but Joshy ducks down to avoid it.
Joshy feints a jab promting Said to slip. Joshy then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Said slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Joshy throws a shot from downtown. Said moves away and avoids it.
Said swings widly with a right hand
and Joshy counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Said throwing a counter right hand but Joshy manages to avoid it.
Said uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Joshy.
Joshy is looking to clinch but Said is avoiding it.

Said lands with a cross.
Said bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

That was a close round but I would say that Ibragim Said will probably get the nod.

Said is nestled in close to Joshy, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Said is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Joshy reverses the position - he's now on top in Said's guard.
Joshy is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Said is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Said has escaped and now he's on top!

Said throws an elbow that misses. Joshy uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Said's guard. Nice move by Joshy!

Joshy drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Said dives on top into guard.

Said is looking to pass to full mount but he's left his head exposed in the process. Joshy has locked up a guillotine and regained full guard. He's really cranking on it - this could be the end! Is it? Is it? No... YES! YES! He's tapped! I didn't think he was going to get it there for a minute but he did! Well done Joshy! He waited for his chance and took it!
