PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Frank Dux (ranked 421 p4p, 187 weight class) and Worf Mogh (ranked 38 p4p, 14 weight class). Dux comes to the cage accompanied by Bloodsport. Mogh has chosen Pantera - Use My Third Arm as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Worf Mogh has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Frank Dux's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Frank Dux!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Worf Mogh!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Kenichi Hosakawa and Yukihiro Shimada.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dux gets caught flat footed, as Mogh shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Dux is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dux is thwarting Mogh's attempts to control the position.
Dux lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Mogh is trying to maintain the position but Dux is very close to passing his half guard.

Dux really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Dux wants to pass to mount but Mogh is defending the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dux throws a strike but Mogh avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
Dux is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Mogh is pulling down on Dux's head. It's preventing any offense from Dux, at least for the moment.

Dux stays in close to Mogh's body and controls the position.

Mogh is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Dux defends well.
Dux wants to control from the top but Mogh keeps moving.
We've been hearing that Dux has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

Mogh is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Dux will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Dux with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Mogh lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Mogh postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Mogh looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Dux's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Frank Dux seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Dux tries to clinch but Mogh is having none of it.

Mogh is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Dux.
Mogh tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Dux was well out of range. Poor timing from Mogh.

Dux looks for a takedown but Mogh sprawls well.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Worf Mogh dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

Dux closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Mogh quickly recovers to half guard.

Mogh lands a jab to the nose.
Dux tries to clinch there but Mogh circles away.
Mogh throws out a loose jab but Dux uses good head movement to avoid it.
Dux shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Mogh as he avoids it easily.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Dux tries to clinch but Mogh is having none of it.
Mogh fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Mogh slaps away a takedown attempt from Dux, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Dux has taken the fight to the clinch.
Mogh lands a left hand that snaps the head of Dux backwards.
Dux lands an uppercut.

Dux jumps into guard, dragging Mogh to the mat.

Mogh has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Dux is pulling down on Mogh's head to control his posture.
Dux can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Mogh controls the pace.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Mogh feints and as Dux raises his hands in defense, Mogh changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Mogh is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Mogh stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Dux swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Dux seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Mogh accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Dux wants to sweep here but Mogh controlling him for the moment.
Mogh wants to pass the guard but Dux is keeping the position.

Dux wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Mogh postures up.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Mogh looks to land a left hand but Dux moved out of range nicely.
Mogh lands a nice shot that snaps Dux's head back.
Mogh wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Dux looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Mogh is fending him off so far but Dux persists. Nope, Mogh circles away and we're back to standing.
Mogh looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Dux goes for a double leg but Mogh avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Mogh continues to drive forward.

Mogh works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Worf Mogh showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Worf Mogh is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Dux seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.

An uppercut to the body lands inside from Dux.

Mogh turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Mogh manages to end up in side control.
Dux tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Mogh wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Mogh wants to lay and pray for a moment but Dux keeps working.
Dux can't do much from the bottom here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mogh works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.

Dux is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Mogh creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Dux sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Frank Dux has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Worf Mogh comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Mogh winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
