Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Phil Sprintin (ranked 452 p4p, 623 weight class) and Frank Dux (ranked 38 p4p, 52 weight class). Sprintin comes into the arena with Disturbed - Bad Man blaring out of the sound system. Dux has chosen Bloodsport as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 15 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Phil Sprintin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 21 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Frank Dux! The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Yuuki Gou and Shigeki Fujiwara.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sprintin ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Dux moves away. Sprintin moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Dux changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Sprintin tries to avoid it but Dux manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Sprintin to the ground. Sprintin escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Dux throws a big shot that misses. Sprintin throwing a counter right hand but Dux manages to avoid it. Sprintin lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Sprintin throws a body shot but no joy. Dux uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Sprintin. Dux doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Dux fails with the takedown. Nice body kick from Sprintin. Dux tries to close the distance and clinch but Sprintin swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. It looked like Sprintin wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Sprintin circles away from the clinch attempt.
Sprintin throws a jab when Dux was well out of range. Dux feints and as Sprintin raises his hands in defense, Dux changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Sprintin looking to control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Sprintin keeping moving, preventing Dux from controlling successfully. Sprintin manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Dux manages to get himself to full guard.
Sprintin has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Dux is on top in guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Sprintin holds on and takes a little breather. Sprintin continues to stall. Dux stays in close to Sprintin's body and controls the position. Dux trying to control the position from guard on top but Sprintin is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Sprintin controls Dux momentarily but Dux frees himself. Sprintin is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Dux is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Sprintin wants to sweep but no luck. Dux lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Dux in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Dux has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Dux got a little sloppy there for a moment and Sprintin has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Dux has managed to get both his arms back between Sprintin's legs - danger averted. Sprintin is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Sprintin is trying to control the position but Dux postures up. Dux is in close to Sprintin's body, working some short punches and elbows. In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Dux working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well. Dux postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Sprintin is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Dux distracts Sprintin with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Sprintin wants to control but Dux passes easily into half guard.
Sprintin has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Dux is working away from the top position though. Dux lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Sprintin slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Sprintin wants to sweep here but Dux controlling him for the moment. That's three minutes gone in the round. Sprintin has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Dux is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Sprintin wants to sweep but no luck. Sprintin is pulling down on Dux's head to control his posture. Dux trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Dux works a leg free and moves into half guard. Dux not landing any meaningful shots this time. Dux lands with a punch from half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sprintin trying to hold on to Dux's head to control him but Dux postures up.
Sprintin on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Sprintin tries to roll over but Dux keeps him under control. Dux looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Dux is pressing down on Sprintin's thigh, looking to free his foot. Sprintin is holding on for now. Sprintin actively working from the bottom here. Sprintin trying to hold on to Dux's head to control him but Dux postures up.
Sprintin taking some punishment here, with Dux in his half guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Dux drops an elbow to the side of Sprintin's head. Sprintin is looking for a sweep. Dux is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Sprintin is working hard here to advance position. Dux is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Frank Dux will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Dux darts in trying to clinch and Sprintin cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Dux closes the distance and clinches. Sprintin lands a body punch in the clinch. Sprintin lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Dux backwards. Sprintin gets underhooks to prevent Dux's takedown attempt.
Sprintin lands a nice shot to the body. Sprintin goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Sprintin. Sprintin scores with a shoulder strike. A hook to the body from Sprintin.
Dux prevents a body shot from Sprintin. Sprintin lands a shot to the body. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sprintin is leaning against Dux and scores with a nice uppercut to the body. A quick uppercut on the inside from Sprintin. Sprintin working some nice short punches in the clinch. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Sprintin presses Dux against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot. Dux is breathing heavily. Sprintin lands a body shot. Sprintin tries to throw a body punch but Dux avoids it by throwing Sprintin back against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sprintin misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Sprintin breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Dux blocks a low kick nicely. Sprintin leaves Dux with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Dux takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Sprintin lunges at Dux with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Dux's hand. Dux ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Sprintin lands a head shot.
Dux is rocked! Sprintin closes the distance and lands a brutal uppercut that knocks Dux out! We're looking at the replay now - he was out before he hit the floor!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:43 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Phil Sprintin! An out of breath Phil Sprintin thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
