Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Oscar Blaydes (ranked 146 p4p, 387 weight class) and Jacques Turcotte (ranked 18 p4p, 42 weight class). Blaydes comes to the cage accompanied by Black Sunshine - White Zombie. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 22 - 10 - 2, fighting out of Montreal, Oscar Blaydes! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 37 - 22 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jacques Turcotte! The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Thiago Cunha and Felipe Paraventi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Blaydes gets a double leg takedown into Turcotte's guard. Blaydes scoring with some ground and pound. Blaydes working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Turcotte's head. Blaydes scoring with punches to the head and body. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Blaydes cracks Turcotte with a solid left hand. Blaydes is working Turcotte over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Turcotte preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Turcotte keeping moving, preventing Blaydes from controlling successfully. Turcotte controls Blaydes momentarily but Blaydes frees himself. Blaydes missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Blaydes lands a couple of decent looking shots. Blaydes is working Turcotte over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Blaydes works over Turcotte with some ground and pound from guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Blaydes wants to control from the top but Turcotte keeps moving. Blaydes distracts Turcotte with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Blaydes scoring with punches to the head and body. Blaydes is pushing down on Turcotte's leg trying to pass to half guard. Turcotte is fighting to maintain full guard but Blaydes has managed to sneak the leg through. Blaydes is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Blaydes missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Turcotte is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Blaydes scores with a couple of nice shots. Blaydes has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Blaydes not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Turcotte keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Blaydes is trying to control the action in half guard but Turcotte is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Blaydes thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Blaydes looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Blaydes throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Blaydes lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Blaydes throwing shots but Turcotte is blocking nicely. Blaydes working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Turcotte is controlling Blaydes's position as best he can from this difficult position. Turcotte looks winded! Blaydes working over Turcotte with some ground and pound. Turcotte looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Blaydes looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Turcotte with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. This has been an exciting period of action! Blaydes is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Blaydes throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Well, if Blaydes is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
We've been hearing that Blaydes has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Blaydes lands with a punch from half guard. Turcotte avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Blaydes. Blaydes is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Turcotte! Turcotte keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Blaydes is in the full mount, landing strikes. Blaydes looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.

Turcotte is rocked! Blaydes connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Turcotte is still in real trouble! Can Blaydes finish him? Blaydes postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Turcotte looks a forlorn figure.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Blaydes unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Turcotte wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Blaydes celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!
