Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Otto McBean (ranked 321 p4p, 386 weight class) and Saul Tacarante (ranked 22 p4p, 26 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 21 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Otto McBean! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 16 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Saul Tacarante! The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tacarante misses the shot to the body. McBean appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body. McBean has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. McBean throws a left and a right that both miss
and Tacarante cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. McBean lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Tacarante just misses with a punch to the body.
McBean instigates a clinch. McBean swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Tacarante tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. A short right from McBean. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. McBean pulls guard successfully.
Tacarante seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
That's one minute gone in the round. McBean might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Tacarante wants to pass the guard but McBean is keeping the position. Tacarante showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Tacarante postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! McBean is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Tacarante, into his guard. McBean trying to control the position from guard on top but Tacarante is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. McBean pushing down on Tacarante's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. McBean is thwarting Tacarante's attempts to control the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. McBean is trying to work for a kimura but Tacarante is defending well.
Tacarante wants to improve his position but McBean is controlling well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. McBean wants to control but Tacarante is keeping him busy. Tacarante is trying to maintain the position but McBean is very close to passing his half guard. Tacarante won't allow McBean to pass to mount. Tacarante tries to get to full guard but McBean has control of the leg. Tacarante trying to control from the bottom.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Tacarante is staying active underneath McBean, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. McBean fails with the takedown.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. McBean looks to throw the jab but Tacarante is out of range. Tacarante misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from McBean.
Tacarante throws a body shot but no joy. Saul Tacarante is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. McBean misses with a lunging right hand

letting Tacarante counter with a right hand. Tacarante lands with a nice body punch. Jab by Tacarante. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Saul Tacarante will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. McBean scores with a shot to the body.
McBean misses with a looping left. Tacarante throws out a counter right but McBean avoids it with no problem. McBean swings widly with a right hand
and Tacarante counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. McBean fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Tacarante manages to avoid it. McBean closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - McBean lands in his opponent's guard. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Tacarante is controlling McBean's posture. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
That's one minute gone in the round. McBean wants to control from the top but Tacarante keeps moving. McBean sitting in guard, not really doing much. Tacarante trying to control the position.
Tacarante might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control McBean haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. McBean is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Tacarante's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems. Tacarante wants to clinch up but McBean keeps it at a distance. Tacarante digs a good hook to McBean's body.

letting Tacarante counter with a right hand. McBean moves out of range as Tacarante strikes. McBean attempts a counter takedown but Tacarante avoids it well and moves away. McBean ducks under a wild hook from Tacarante. McBean throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A big left from Tacarante misses. Tacarante ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. It seemed like Tacarante was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Tacarante thuds his right hand into McBean's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. McBean just misses with a punch to the body.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Tacarante! But no joy. Tacarante has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off. Tacarante is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. Tacarante walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Tacarante looks to score with a jab to the body but McBean is just out of range. McBean attempts a counter takedown but Tacarante avoids it well and moves away. Tacarante misses the shot to the body. A counter left hand to the body from McBean misses its target. McBean scores with a nice right hand.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Tacarante misses with a hook. McBean tries to counter with a takedown but Tacarante is quick to defend against it. McBean misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Tacarante counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. McBean misses the jab. It seemed like Tacarante was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. McBean avoids the body shot from Tacarante.
McBean misses with an uppercut. A nice side step and Tacarante releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home. McBean misses with a lunging right hand
and Tacarante makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. McBean shoots and misses and Tacarante counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Tacarante keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Tacarante stuffs the takedown attempt from McBean. McBean gets slowly back to his feet. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Saul Tacarante will probably get the nod - 10:9. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round! McBean ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Tacarante moves away. Tacarante looks to land a right hand but McBean moved out of range. Tacarante throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

and McBean counters with a takedown into side control. McBean wants to control but Tacarante is keeping him busy. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A control attempt from Tacarante but he's now mounted! Tacarante tries to hold on but McBean pushes him away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tacarante is just holding on here. McBean manages to take his back.
Tacarante trying to control the hands but McBean breaks the grip. Tacarante fending off the submission attempt from McBean. McBean is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
Otto McBean has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's two minutes gone in the round. McBean avoiding Tacarante 's attempts to control his hands. McBean working for the choke. McBean looking to finish the fight with a rear naked choke. Tacarante is controlling McBean 's left arm and he spins nicely into guard. Saul Tacarante is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Tacarante got a little sloppy there for a moment and McBean has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Tacarante has managed to get both his arms back between McBean's legs - danger averted.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tacarante is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. McBean had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Tacarante defends it easily. Tacarante wants to control from the top but McBean keeps moving. McBean is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Tacarante is aware though and is defending well. Tacarante must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Tacarante wants to control from the top but McBean keeps moving. Tacarante sitting in guard here, content to control. McBean working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Tacarante doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Tacarante manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. McBean trying to strike off his back.
