Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lamar Gordon (ranked 461 p4p, 748 weight class) and Cole Steel (ranked 67 p4p, 105 weight class). Gordon comes to the cage accompanied by Coming Home - Ditty ft. Skylar Grey. Lamar Gordon has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 13 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Lamar Gordon! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 10 - 5 - 1, fighting out of London, Cole Steel! The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Steel keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Steel throws a shot from downtown. Gordon moves away and avoids it. Steel misses the shot to the body. Gordon lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick. Gordon steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Steel. Steel throws an off balance right hand
and Gordon makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Steel closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Steel lands in his opponent's guard. Steel wants to control from the top but Gordon keeps moving. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Steel throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Gordon works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Steel pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Gordon is keeping the position for now.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gordon controlling Steel's posture. Steel postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Gordon is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Steel, into his guard. Gordon advances to half guard. Gordon looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Gordon seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Steel does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Steel trying to control but Gordon postures up.
Steel tries to roll over but Gordon keeps him under control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gordon is thwarting Steel's attempts to control the position. Steel manages to get to full guard.
Steel looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Steel looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Steel is pulling down on Gordon's head. It's preventing any offense from Gordon, at least for the moment.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gordon tries to free his leg and advance position but Steel is retaining full guard. Our spies down at at BKC Gym inform us that Steel has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off? Steel wants to sweep here but Gordon controlling him for the moment. Gordon slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Steel working for a triangle but Gordon defends it easily.
Gordon has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Steel escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Gordon gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Steel is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Steel not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Steel misses with a hook to the body
and Gordon counters with a stiff right hand. Gordon goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. We've been told by Gordon's head coaches at League of Shadows MMA that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. A jab from Steel does it's job there. Steel misses with a two punch combination.
An attempted straight right counter from Gordon misses the target. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Steel misses with a hook
and Gordon counters with a nice body kick. Steel misses with an uppercut
and Gordon counters with a nice leg kick. Gordon scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Steel shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Gordon as he jumps to the side. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Lamar Gordon dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Steel thows a left - swing and a miss! Steel just misses with a punch to the body.
A shot to the liver by Gordon. Beautiful body shot. Gordon uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Steel. Gordon tried to counter with a leg kick but Steel avoided it. Steel shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Gordon is trying to defend but Steel finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Gordon is pressing down on Steel's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Gordon controls Steel momentarily but Steel frees himself. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gordon looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Steel looking to sit in guard and control but Gordon gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gordon passes into half guard. Steel is looking to improve his position.
Steel wants to control but Gordon is keeping busy and won't allow it. Steel makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Steel. Steel is trying to control the position but Gordon postures up. Lamar Gordon overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Gordon controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Steel looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Steel looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Gordon puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Steel is controlling Gordon's trapped leg to prevent Gordon from advancing to side control. Steel wants to control but Gordon is keeping busy.
Steel gets back to full guard.
Gordon stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Steel swivels though and keeps the full guard. Steel tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Gordon sitting in guard here, content to control. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Gordon slips nicely into half guard, despite the strikes coming from Steel. Steel tries to get to full guard but Gordon has control of the leg. Steel trying to control here.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Steel really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Gordon is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Steel can do to turn this around? Gordon manages to capitalize on a mistake by Steel to take his back! Steel trying to control the position but Gordon manages to sink in the hooks. Gordon controlling well, preventing Steel from escaping the position.
Gordon is riding his opponent, not letting Steel buck him off. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Gordon avoiding Steel 's attempts to control his hands. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Lamar Gordon dominated that second round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round! Gordon takes one to the chin there. Steel connects with a good right hand that stumbles Gordon. Gordon circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Gordon keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Steel clobbers Gordon with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Steel throws a jab when Gordon was well out of range. Gordon is looking to counter punch. letting Gordon counter with a right hand. Gordon with a body punch. A glancing blow. Steel will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

That's one minute gone in the round. Gordon tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Steel was well out of range. Poor timing from Gordon. Steel thows a left - swing and a miss! Gordon slaps away a takedown attempt from Steel, before circling back to the center of the mat. Gordon was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Gordon throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Steel sees it coming and avoids it easily. Steel looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Steel lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Gordon takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Steel scores with a jab to the jaw. Steel lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Steel tries to clinch up. Steel has his takedown stuffed and Gordon counters with a slapping leg kick. Lamar Gordon is winning the standup battle so far. Steel takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Gordon throwing a counter right hand but Steel manages to avoid it. Steel misses the jab. Gordon was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit. Gordon tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Gordon takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Nice jab there from Steel. Steel dives in for a single leg takedown but Gordon sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Lamar Gordon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Cole Steel. Steel throws an off balance right hand
and Gordon counters with a nice body kick. Nice shot by Gordon. Steel rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Gordon connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Cole Steel has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Steel lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Steel throws the left hand but Gordon avoids the punch easily. Gordon pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Steel fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Gordon feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Steel sprawling to the canvas! Steel rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Gordon finish him?!
Steel is rocked! An inside leg kick lands from Gordon. Steel is still on wobbly legs! Can Gordon finish him? Gordon misses with a wild body shot. Steel seems to have recovered his senses. Steel thuds his right hand into Gordon's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Steel works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. This has been an exciting period of action! Steel throws a hook but Gordon avoids it easily. Steel closes the distance but Gordon moves to the side and Gordon counters with a stiff right hand. Gordon cracks Steel with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Gordon has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Steel to stand back up! Gordon uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Steel. Gordon bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Steel's head backwards.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gordon flashes Steel a smile before throwing a beast of a right hand, straight down the pipe. Steel's eyes follow the hand right onto his nose, taking in it's full glory... and then darkness. Steel crumples to the floor! He's out cold! Gordon punches the air and yells at the top of his lungs - yeeeeeeeeeeah!!!! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:09 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Lamar Gordon! After winning the bout, Lamar Gordon thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
