Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Tre Jokinen (ranked 803 p4p, 1776 weight class) and Kirill Berkut (ranked 76 p4p, 164 weight class). Kirill Berkut has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tre Jokinen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 7 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Kirill Berkut!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Elvis Blanc and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Berkut shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Berkut prevents Jokinen from improving his position.
Jokinen has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Berkut is working away from the top position though.
Jokinen tries to roll over but Berkut keeps him under control.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Berkut working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
Berkut is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jokinen is trying to get back to full guard.

Berkut might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Jokinen haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Berkut is stalling here. Jokinen is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Berkut seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Jokinen has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Jokinen is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Berkut is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Jokinen wants to lay and pray for a moment but Berkut keeps working.
Berkut gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

Jokinen is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Berkut reverses the position - he's now on top in Jokinen's guard.
Jokinen seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.

Jokinen had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Berkut defends it easily.
Berkut stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jokinen swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Berkut is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Jokinen is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Berkut is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Jokinen throws a strike but Berkut rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Jokinen has momentary wrist control but Berkut slips an elbow through the middle.

Berkut avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Jokinen utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Jokinen connects with a body shot.
Jokinen has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Berkut finds it's way round the side to connect with Jokinen's head.
Berkut tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Jokinen swivels and escapes.

Jokinen attempts a counter takedown but Berkut avoids it well and moves away.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Berkut shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Jokinen's guard.

Jokinen ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Berkut closes this distance looking for a takedown but Jokinen circles away.
Tre Jokinen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kirill Berkut.

Berkut manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Jokinen on his heels. He'll look to pass Jokinen's guard now, I'm sure.

Jokinen escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Berkut gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Jokinen has his foot on Berkut's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Berkut works his way back into a safe position though.

Berkut slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Berkut has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Berkut looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Jokinen is fending him off so far but Berkut persists. Nope, Jokinen circles away and we're back to standing.

Berkut content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Jokinen has locked up a guillotine! Jokinen's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Berkut is holding on here and Jokinen must be using up a lot of energy. Berkut has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Jokinen gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 6:20 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Tre Jokinen!
After winning the bout, Tre Jokinen thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
