Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jim Babcock (ranked 83 p4p, 113 weight class) and Cormac McCarthy (ranked 13 p4p, 17 weight class). Babcock comes into the arena with Raiders Attack Vault City blaring out of the sound system. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 25 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jim Babcock!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 31 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Cormac McCarthy!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Shigeki Fujiwara and Yukihiro Yamamoto.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McCarthy misses with a jab to the body
and Babcock counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Babcock pivots, looking for a leg kick but McCarthy is out of range and Babcock settles back down.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that McCarthy has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

That was a close second round but I would say that Jim Babcock will probably get the nod.
