Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Richard Mesquita (ranked 115 p4p, 465 weight class) and Rokken Roll (ranked 16 p4p, 49 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 27 - 11 - 0, fighting out of New York, Richard Mesquita!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 27 - 16 - 2, fighting out of Amsterdam, Rokken Roll!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Sam Margolis and James Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mesquita misses with a straight right.
Mesquita looks to score with a jab to the body but Roll is just out of range.
Mesquita cracks Roll with an open hand slap.
Roll throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Mesquita sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Mesquita was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Roll thuds his shin into the meat of Mesquita's side.
Roll fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Roll has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Mesquita looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Rokken Roll seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Mesquita sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

Roll feints and then cracks Mesquita's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Mesquita down.

We've been hearing reports that Mesquita has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Mesquita is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Roll doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Mesquita.

Roll lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Mesquita circles away quickly and effectively.
Roll tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Mesquita cracks Roll with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Mesquita is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Roll can do to turn this around?

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Rokken Roll showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Mesquita throws an elbow that misses. Roll uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Mesquita's guard. Nice move by Roll!
