Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Odin Markkanen (ranked 518 p4p, 412 weight class) and Nakachi Tadageru (ranked 51 p4p, 38 weight class). The key to victory for Odin Markkanen has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 22 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Odin Markkanen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 17 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Nakachi Tadageru! The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Damien Edna and Summer Carpenter.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Markkanen shoots in for a takedown but Tadageru shows good takedown defense. Markkanen with a nice calf kick. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Tadageru has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Tadageru tries to clinch up. Markkanen scoring well with a low kick there.
Markkanen is looking to slow Tadageru down with leg kicks. Markkanen takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Markkanen throws a head kick that misses. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Tadageru throws a right hand that misses
and Tadageru takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Markkanen jabs at Tadageru's body. Tadageru ducks under a wild hook from Markkanen.

The fight moves into the clinch position. Markkanen is pressed up against the cage. Tadageru has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Markkanen down to the mat. Markkanen avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Tadageru wants to clinch up but Markkanen keeps it at a distance. Markkanen throws a poor cross that misses
and Tadageru counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Tadageru. Tadageru trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Tadageru is looking to work some ground and pound but Markkanen has wrist control. Tadageru is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Tadageru postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Markkanen is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Tadageru, into his guard.
Markkanen is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Markkanen is looking to work some ground and pound but Tadageru has wrist control. Tadageru wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Markkanen stopping the sweep attempt from Tadageru. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Markkanen sitting in guard here, content to control. Tadageru is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Tadageru darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Tadageru takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Tadageru wants to advance to full mount but Markkanen doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead. Tadageru stands up over Markkanen, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Tadageru looking to sit in guard and control but Markkanen gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

We've been hearing that Markkanen has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish. Tadageru manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Tadageru chips away with some ground and pound. Tadageru working some strikes from top position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.  That's four minutes gone in the round. Markkanen creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Tadageru gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Markkanen working the head and body with strikes. Tadageru regains full guard. Nicely done. Markkanen looking to sit in guard and control but Tadageru gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Nakachi Tadageru showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
A big left from Markkanen misses. Odin Markkanen has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Tadageru tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Markkanen paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Tadageru slips nicely into half guard. Tadageru looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Markkanen with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Tadageru has been the more effective fighter overall so far. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Tadageru connects with a nice short shot to Markkanen's temple. Tadageru looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Markkanen tries to get to full guard but Tadageru has control of the leg. Tadageru is thwarting Markkanen's attempts to control the position. Tadageru winds up and cracks Markkanen with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Markkanen keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Nice strikes from Tadageru there.
Tadageru is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Markkanen has managed to free his arm - good work. Tadageru missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Tadageru lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Tadageru takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Tadageru throwing shots but Markkanen is blocking nicely. Markkanen avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Tadageru. Markkanen is refusing to be controlled, as Tadageru sits in half guard.
Markkanen looking for submissions off his back. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Nice strikes from Tadageru there. Markkanen is trying to get back to full guard. Tadageru passes to side control. Markkanen takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Tadageru lands a decent elbow from side control. Markkanen takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Tadageru scoring with punches and elbows. Tadageru working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. Check out the look on Tadageru's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!

Tadageru looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Tadageru lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
 Markkanen is rocked! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Tadageru misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
And that's the end of the fight! Nakachi Tadageru comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Tadageru winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
