Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hawk Fleximario (ranked 4 p4p, 31 weight class) and Alexey Markov (ranked 1 p4p, 3 weight class). Fleximario comes to the cage accompanied by Funkmeister. Alexey Markov will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Alexey Markov!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Sam Margolis and James Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice uppercut lands for Markov. That snapped Fleximario's head back.
Markov steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Fleximario. That one must have hurt.
Markov misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Fleximario counters with a thumping low kick.
Fleximario fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Markov has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Fleximario buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Markov throws a poor cross that misses
and Fleximario counters with a nice body kick.
Fleximario misses the shot to the body.
Markov swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Fleximario has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

You can see that Markov has visibly slowed down as a result of the leg kicks

Markov is breathing heavily.

and Fleximario takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Fleximario here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.
Fleximario moves into range and connects with a jab.
Fleximario throws a lazy right hand but Markov sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
As Fleximario backs off Markov throws a huge counter combo but Fleximario manages to avoid it all.
Fleximario connects with a solid leg kick.
Both these guys seem content to just stand up and trade with each other but Markov might want to think about changing up his gameplan a bit because over the course of the fight, Fleximario has got the better of the exchanges.

Markov takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Fleximario is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Markov keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Fleximario fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Markov looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Markov takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Markov's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.

Fleximario explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.

And an attempted straight right on the counter from Markov! But no joy.

Markov takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Markov on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Fleximario lands with a cross.
BOOM! Fleximario lands a beautiful left hook that drops Markov. Markov tries to recover but Fleximario is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Markov lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!
