Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Thomas Rose (ranked 12 p4p, 67 weight class) and Douglas Sampson (ranked 2 p4p, 8 weight class). Rose comes into the arena with Raining Blood blaring out of the sound system. Sampson comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Sunshine (ft. Anthony Hamilton) - Twista kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Douglas Sampson acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 30 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Douglas Sampson!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Daniel Franklin and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Rose swings away with a body shot that misses
and Sampson makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Sampson goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
It appears Rose was looking to counter with a kick there.
Sampson throws a jab but it's blocked by Rose.
Rose throws a quick counter kick to the body but Sampson avoids it.
Rose closes the distance but Sampson moves to the side
and Sampson cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
It looks like Thomas Rose has been cut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Rose, as that shot connected.
Rose dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Rose goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Sampson takes a swing at Rose's ribcage but misses.
Rose is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
Rose throws a head kick that misses
and Sampson connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Good leg kick by Rose.
Rose swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Sampson.
Sampson misses with a body punch
and Rose makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Sampson fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Rose manages to avoid it.
Sampson lands a right hook to the body.
Sampson connects with an inside leg kick.
Sampson takes a jab right on the kisser.
Rose misses with an uppercut
and Sampson counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Sampson works Rose's body with a nice hook.
Sampson is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Rose rather than just go for the knockout.
Sampson is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Rose bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Sampson slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Rose. Sampson shrugs it off though.

Rose tries to land knees in the clinch but Sampson avoids the damage to the body.

Sampson lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Rose digs a right hand underneath Sampson's ribcage. Sampson let out a lung full of air as it connected.

Rose gets through Sampson's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Sampson has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Rose lands a body shot in the clinch.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Douglas Sampson will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Thomas Rose's cut.
That's time! Rose's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Sampson takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Rose throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Rose throws a powerful right kick. Sampson tried to block low but the kick was high! Sampson was taken right off of his feet! Rose jumps in to finish the job and the ref tackles him! The fight is over!

Our winner, Thomas Rose, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
The defeated Douglas Sampson had this to say: 'Nothing goes over my head… my reflexes are too fast, but my famously huge turd pre fight left me feeling dizzy and I was seeing double vision the whole fight'.
