Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rufus Globe! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 9 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Lance Thorn! The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Steve Montenegro and Bruno Lombardi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Thorn takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Globe moves out of range of the strikes. Thorn tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Globe was well out of range. Poor timing from Thorn. Lance Thorn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Thorn drops Globe with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Globe looks back up at him and smiles so Thorn waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Globe is rocked! A telegraphed right hand from Globe misses the target. Oh Globe is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Globe fails to land the takedown. Globe throws a looping overhand right but Thorn ducks down to avoid it. A countering left hand to the body from Thorn misses. Globe seems to have got his legs back now. Thorn just misses with a punch to the body.
Thorn fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Globe manages to avoid it. Globe ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Thorn uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Globe. Thorn connects with a body shot that sends Globe's belly button to the back. Thorn dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Globe is breathing heavily. Globe bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Thorn drops Globe with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Globe looks back up at him and smiles so Thorn waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Globe ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Thorn connects with a body shot that sends Globe's belly button to the back. Thorn finds Globe's off switch, with a big overhand right that connects perfectly to the side of the head! Globe flops back against the cage, eyes gazing into the distance. Thorn lands an unnecessary shot before the referee has time to step in and end the fight. Brutal stuff but I'm sure Globe will be OK.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Lance Thorn!
