Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lemuel Denver (ranked 52 p4p, 148 weight class) and Giro Inhanamoto (ranked 11 p4p, 24 weight class). Denver's entrance music is Марш нової армії. A fine choice. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Lemuel Denver!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Giro Inhanamoto!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Paul Aken and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Both fighters are only really looking to counter, so after a good 30 seconds of circling each other endlessly, the referee has stepped in and told them both to be more aggressive.
Denver blocks a jab.
Denver appears to be looking for a big counter.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Denver swings for the body but Inhanamoto moves out of range.
Inhanamoto follows through with a counter body kick but it doesn't land.
Inhanamoto ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Denver tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Inhanamoto was well out of range. Poor timing from Denver.

and Denver counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Denver looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Denver has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.

Denver wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

A nice side step and Inhanamoto releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Denver is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Inhanamoto can do to turn this around?

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

You can see the frustration on Denver's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Denver manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
