Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between D.C. Benny (ranked 282 p4p, 370 weight class) and Seamus O Brien (ranked 43 p4p, 53 weight class). Benny comes into the arena with D.C. Benny - Unagi Standup Bit blaring out of the sound system. O Brien comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Pantera - The Great Southern Trendkill kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! D.C. Benny has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Benny throws a hook but O Brien avoids it easily.
Benny backing away here, and O Brien unleashes a leg kick that just misses.
Benny has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Gonzasco Hydropathy in the buildup to the fight.

and O Brien counters with a nice low kick that buckles Benny's knee momentarily.

and O Brien counters with a crisp right hand that drops Benny! O Brien lets Benny back up to his feet, looking for a finish!
Benny is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
O Brien throws a low kick but Benny moves out of range easily.
Benny quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect.
O Brien is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Benny chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before O Brien can pounce on him.

and O Brien counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Benny looks to score with a jab to the body but O Brien is just out of range.
Benny backing away here, and O Brien unleashes a leg kick that just misses.
O Brien scores with a sloppy right hand. Benny should have avoided that one.
Oh Benny is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Benny throws the left hand but O Brien avoids the punch easily.
Benny seems to have got his legs back now.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Benny tries to keep at a distance but O Brien has taken the fight into the clinch.
O Brien cracks Benny with a nice body shot.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Benny ducks down and throws a hook to the body but O Brien moves away.
O Brien swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Benny throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck O Brien on the side of the head.

O Brien shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

D.C. Benny seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

O Brien throws a push kick but Benny slaps the foot to one side.
O Brien slips a straight right by Benny.
O Brien throws a leg kick but Benny sees it coming and checks it nicely.

Nice uppercut lands for Benny. That snapped O Brien's head back.
Benny throws an uppercut from half a mile away. O Brien sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Benny, as that shot connected.
Benny loads up on a big right hand but O Brien slips the punch.
O Brien flicks out a counter leg kick but Benny steps away.
Seamus O Brien seems to be getting the better of the standup.
O Brien lands a nice shot to the body.
O Brien cracks Benny with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Benny looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can O Brien finish him?
A swing and a miss from Benny.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from O Brien! But no joy.
Benny connects with a nice looking jab.
Benny lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
O Brien moves away from the strike by Benny.
O Brien throws a sloppy head kick and Benny moves out of range easily.

Benny drops his hands momentarily and O Brien takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

O Brien cracks Benny with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Benny looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can O Brien finish him?
Benny gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! O Brien gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!

After the fight, Seamus O Brien was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
