Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Porthos Knox (ranked 322 p4p, 312 weight class) and Aleks Nik (ranked 48 p4p, 46 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Knox might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to One Step Closer | Linkin Park. Nik has chosen Ноггано - стволок за поясок as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 27 - 16 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Aleks Nik!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Tiny Johnson and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Knox throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Nik cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Knox scores with a crisp jab that stopped Nik in his tracks.
Knox jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Knox takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Nik ducks under a wild hook from Knox.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Nik has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Knox looks to throw the jab but Nik is out of range.
Nik throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Knox swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Knox with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Nik to score with a decent uppercut.
Nik lunges at Knox with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Knox's hand.
Knox ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
