Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Paul Hunter (ranked 2214 p4p, 1756 weight class) and Jet Gunner (ranked 266 p4p, 221 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Paul Hunter has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Paul Hunter seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 14 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Paul Hunter! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 31 - 28 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jet Gunner! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Robert Twigg and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gunner throws a left and a right that both miss
and Gunner takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. A head kick misses from Gunner. Hunter misses with a straight right. Gunner misses with a body shot.
An attempted straight right counter from Hunter misses the target. Gunner fails in his attempt to clinch. Gunner lands with a right hand. Gunner misses with a hook
and Hunter counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Gunner throws a head kick that misses. It appears Hunter was looking to counter with a kick there. Good exchange - Gunner coming out on top. Hunter looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Hunter misses with a wild body shot. Gunner swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Nice takedown defense from Hunter. No joy for Gunner on that attempt. Hunter throwing a counter right hand but Gunner manages to avoid it. Hunter defending well as Gunner loads up on a big left hand. Gunner misses with a wild body shot. Gunner throws a head kick that misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. A punch combination from Gunner misses. It looked like Hunter was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Gunner. Gunner moves into range and clinches up with Hunter. Gunner takes a shot to the head. With the fighters up against the cage, Gunner throws an elbow but misses. Gunner misses with a hook to the ribs.
Hunter lands with a short shot to the head. Hunter gets through Gunner's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Hunter lands a left hand that snaps the head of Gunner backwards. Gunner told us before the fight that he's been working on his elbows. An under utilised technique these days - let's see if it can sway the outcome of the fight. Hunter lands with a right to the head. Hunter lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Gunner blocks a body shot from Hunter. Gunner is working Hunter over against the cage. Hunter lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Gunner is rocked! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Hunter misses with a body punch.
Hunter dodges an elbow strike from Gunner.
Gunner has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Hunter is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Gunner looks winded! Hunter pushes Gunner back against the cage and unloads with a body punch. Nice body punch from Hunter. Hunter lands a right hand. A shot in the inside from Hunter. Gunner is still on wobbly legs! Can Hunter finish him?
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hunter lands a body shot. Hunter drops Gunner onto one knee with a big uppercut from the clinch! Gunner is propped up by the cage and works his way back to his feet! Hunter creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Gunner with a big uppercut! Gunner tries to clinch up but Hunter pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Gunner to the mat! Gunner covers up and Hunter unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:15 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Paul Hunter! Our winner, Paul Hunter, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
