Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ike Goon (ranked 2509 p4p, 2646 weight class) and Orlando Sanguinetti (ranked 0 p4p, 310 weight class). The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 9 - 8 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ike Goon! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 31 - 15 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Orlando Sanguinetti! The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Vladimir Khabensky and Valeri Chadov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Goon scores with a kick to the midsection. Goon misses with an attempted mid kick.

Goon fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Sanguinetti to the ground. Goon is now in Sanguinetti's guard. Sanguinetti looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Goon not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Sanguinetti can do anything to dispel that myth. Goon missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Sanguinetti wants to sweep but no luck. The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Sanguinetti shoots for a takedown but Goon saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Goon looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Sanguinetti works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. We've been hearing reports that Goon has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Goon throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Goon throws a nice inside leg kick. Sanguinetti dives in and grabs Goon's left leg, looking for a takedown. Goon pushes down on Sanguinetti's head and hops out. Goon lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick. Goon jabs Sanguinetti to the body, keeping him at a distance. Goon finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.

Sanguinetti tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Goon defends well and Sanguinetti ends up having to push Goon into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Ike Goon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Orlando Sanguinetti. Sanguinetti throws a right hand that Goon ducks under and follows up with a left that Goon also avoids with ease. A decent looking body kick lands there for Goon. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Sanguinetti will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Goon throws a push kick but Sanguinetti slaps the foot to one side. Goon throws a wild body kick that Sanguinetti sees coming a mile off. Sanguinetti misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Goon manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Sanguinetti on his heels. He'll look to pass Sanguinetti's guard now, I'm sure. Sanguinetti wants to stand but Goon is controlling the position. Sanguinetti really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Goon. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Goon slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Sanguinetti is looking for a sweep. Goon is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Goon controlling the action here. And that is the end of the round. Ike Goon is winning the standup battle so far. A nice leg kick lands there from Goon. Sanguinetti gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Sanguinetti lands on the inside with an uppercut. The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Sanguinetti jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Goon walks away with a smile on his face. Sanguinetti gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Goon swats away the attempt to clinch by Sanguinetti. Sanguinetti gets caught napping as Goon dives in and scores a takedown. Sanguinetti manages to retain guard. Goon throws a big elbow that misses.

Sanguinetti is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Goon throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Goon seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Sanguinetti for as long as he can get away with.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Goon throws a quick inside leg kick. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Goon cracks Sanguinetti with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Ike Goon dominated that second round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. And we move into the final round!

Still in the clinch, Goon scores with a nice short uppercut. Goon has Sanguinetti pushed against the cage. Sanguinetti tries to pull guard but Goon holds him up against the cage and eventually Sanguinetti drops back down to his feet.
Sanguinetti is looking to take this one to the mat. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Goon drops down looking for an ankle pick but Sanguinetti pulls his leg out and moves away.
Orlando Sanguinetti is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Goon shoots in looking for a takedown but Sanguinetti manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Goon's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Sanguinetti fails with a takedown attempt. Ike Goon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Orlando Sanguinetti.
That's one minute gone in the round. Goon throws a half hearted mid kick. Despite the aggression on Sanguinetti's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter. Goon scores with a takedown into Sanguinetti's guard. Sanguinetti pushes Goon off and scrambles back to his feet.
Ike Goon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Sanguinetti thows a leg kick but Goon checks it and Goon counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Sanguinetti! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Goon works to advance to full mount. Sanguinetti defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. Goon lands a heavy elbow. Goon in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Goon is in the full mount, landing strikes. Goon is landing with some decent strikes but Sanguinetti is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Goon lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Goon lands a heavy elbow. Sanguinetti takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Goon takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Sanguinetti is desperately trying to improve his position but Goon has a good base and remains in mount. Sanguinetti is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Goon cracks Sanguinetti with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Goon controlling the position easily from mount. Goon has control of Sanguinetti's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Sanguinetti regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Goon takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Goon's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. More hug and hope from Goon. Goon has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

And that's the end of the fight! Ike Goon showed his dominance in that final round. Well Goon has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
