PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kealin Bishop (ranked 1045 p4p, 680 weight class) and Zap Pushkin (ranked 135 p4p, 93 weight class). Bishop comes to the cage accompanied by HonestKey- When I Wake Up. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Zap Pushkin!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Gregory Folan and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pushkin waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Bishop.
Bishop drops down looking for a counter takedown but Pushkin sprawls and moves away.
Bishop lands a jab to Pushkin's midsection.
Bishop tries to clinch but Pushkin is having none of it.

and Pushkin counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

It looks like Kealin Bishop has been cut.
Pushkin walks into a left hand.
Bishop scores with a kick to the body.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Pushkin feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Bishop sprawling to the canvas! Bishop rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Pushkin finish him?!

The fighters are working up against the cage. Pushkin manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

It looks like Bishop has been trying to sharpen up his punching technique, as it looks crisper than last time we saw him.

Bishop lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Pushkin has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye.

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Pushkin crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Bishop - the referee stops the clock and Pushkin gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Bishop. Pushkin manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Bishop is working to tighten his grip on Pushkin's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Pushkin has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Bishop is really squeezing tight and eventually Pushkin passes out! Bishop breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 9:22 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Kealin Bishop!
A relieved looking Kealin Bishop thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
