Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kawainui Perry (ranked 145 p4p, 277 weight class) and Leonardo Pancho Garcia (ranked 24 p4p, 39 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Garcia's choice of entrance music: Thors Hammer - Mexico. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 13 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kawainui Perry! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 16 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Leonardo Pancho Garcia! The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Chris Saunders and Jeff Smith.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Perry lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Garcia tries to bum rush Perry with a series of wild strikes but Perry uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Perry scores with a sloppy right hand. Garcia should have avoided that one.
 It looks like Leonardo Pancho Garcia has been cut. Perry thows a leg kick but Garcia checks it letting Garcia counter with a right hand. Perry keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Garcia. Perry uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Garcia.
Perry doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Garcia throws a hook but Perry blocks it. Garcia throws a body shot but no joy. Garcia loads up on a big right hand but Perry slips the punch. Garcia misses with a straight right. Garcia just misses with a punch to the body.
Perry misses with a shot to the body and Garcia counters with a lovely straight right hand! Perry defending well as Garcia loads up on a big left hand. Perry looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Perry throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Perry keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Garcia. Perry ducks under a wild hook from Garcia. Perry takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Garcia swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Perry swings for the body but Garcia moves out of range.
Garcia fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Garcia misses with an uppercut. Perry saw that one coming. Garcia wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Garcia lands a glancing blow to the side of Perry's head. A swing and a miss from Garcia. Perry lands with a shot to the body. Garcia throws a jab but it's blocked by Perry. Perry defending well as Garcia loads up on a big left hand. Garcia comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Garcia fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Garcia missing with a left hand there. Perry was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Garcia throws a jab when Perry was well out of range. Perry seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance. Perry walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Garcia checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Garcia chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Perry can pounce on him.

Garcia digs a good body shot into Perry's ribs. Perry swings widly with a right hand
and Garcia counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Perry thinking. Garcia connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Garcia misses with an uppercut.
Perry has managed to clinch.
Perry fails to land with a short punch on the inside.

 That's three minutes gone in the round. Perry can't find room to land a body shot as Garcia controls the action.
Garcia prevents a body shot from Perry. Garcia takes a shot to the head. Perry prevents a body shot from Garcia. Garcia lands a shoulder strike. A right handed body shot lands from Perry.
Perry is working Garcia over against the cage. Perry throws an elbow but it misses.

The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. Perry lands an elbow inside. Garcia prevents a body shot from Perry. Perry pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage. Perry lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Garcia jumps guard but Perry turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Perry has a couple of punches blocked by Garcia.
This has been an exciting period of action! Garcia blocks an uppercut.
Perry lands with a short shot to the head. A short uppercut from Perry. Garcia blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Perry misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Garcia avoids the elbow strike from Perry, against the cage.

Garcia tries to throw a body punch but Perry avoids it by throwing Garcia back against the cage. Garcia tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Perry blocks an uppercut.
Perry is working Garcia over against the cage. Garcia jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Perry walks away with a smile on his face. Garcia gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Kawainui Perry has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Leonardo Pancho Garcia. Perry looking to land some kicks to the body here.

Perry appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body. Garcia misses with a wild body shot. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Leonardo Pancho Garcia will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Leonardo Pancho Garcia's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Perry moves out of range as Garcia strikes. Perry lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Leonardo Pancho Garcia seems to be getting the better of the standup. Perry misses with a body kick. Garcia scores with a one two! Perry had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Garcia misses with an uppercut. Perry saw that one coming. A punch combination from Garcia misses. A little feinted left hand from Perry on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Perry instigates a clinch. Perry tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Perry lands a right hand. Garcia can't find room to land a body shot as Perry controls the action.
Garcia tries to work over Perry's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Perry throws an elbow but it misses.
Kawainui Perry has scored more points in the clinch so far. Perry lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Good body shot from Perry.
This has been an exciting period of action! Perry stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body. Perry lands a glancing elbow in the clinch. Garcia takes an elbow to the temple.
 Garcia is rocked!
 That has opened up Leonardo Pancho Garcia's cut even more.
 That's one minute gone in the round. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Perry creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Garcia is still on wobbly legs! Can Perry finish him? A quick uppercut on the inside from Perry. Perry creates some distance and fires off a vicious elbow that drops Garcia! He pounces and finishes the fight with more strikes! Nice KO for Perry.

Our winner, Kawainui Perry, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
