Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Thomas Rose (ranked 27 p4p, 169 weight class) and Tom Obama (ranked 6 p4p, 25 weight class). Rose comes to the cage accompanied by Raining Blood. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 23 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Thomas Rose! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 47 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tom Obama! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Tiny Johnson and Robert Twigg.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Both fighters are only really looking to counter, so after a good 30 seconds of circling each other endlessly, the referee has stepped in and told them both to be more aggressive. Obama keeps the fight on the outside. Obama is trying to counter with his kicks. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rose misses with a kick to the body enabling Obama to counter with a crisp jab.
 It looks like Thomas Rose has been cut.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Rose darts in trying to clinch and Obama cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Obama walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Rose misses with a head kick.
Obama looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Rose fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Obama looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Rose. A countering left hand to the body from Obama misses.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Rose looks to clinch and Obama connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Rose throws a body kick despite being completely out of range and Obama counters with a lovely straight right hand! Obama moves out of range of the strikes. Obama was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind. Rose tries to close the distance and clinch up but Obama swats him away and circles back towards the center. Obama thinks about the counter body kick. Thomas Rose seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Rose thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Obama if he has to take too many more of those.

Obama swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Rose just misses with a punch to the body.

Rose tries to clinch but fails miserably and Obama counters with a straight right hand. Rose looks to score with a jab to the body but Obama is just out of range. A nice side step and Obama releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.

Rose tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Obama manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Obama throws a fast counter high kick but Rose manages to duck under it in time.

 Thomas Rose's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it. Rose is looking to wear down Obama with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Rose is looking to clinch but Obama is avoiding it.
And Obama responds with a good body kick, but Rose manages to step out the way in time.

Rose tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Obama counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
 Jeez, Thomas Rose's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Rose tries to clinch up and Obama connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Rose moves into the clinch. Obama is trying to break the clinch but Rose has him pressed against the cage. Obama is looking to break free of the clinch but Rose has double underhooks. Obama wants to get back to striking at distance but Rose won't allow it.
Rose lands a body punch. Obama is wobbling all over the place through exhaustion. Will he make it to the final bell? Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Rose putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Obama in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body. Thomas Rose has scored more points in the clinch so far. Rose with a knee to the head.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Rose creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. A right handed body shot lands from Rose.
Our sources have told us that Rose has been working on his knees in the buildup to the fight. A right handed body shot lands from Rose.
