Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Greggory Silalahi (ranked 161 p4p, 127 weight class) and Jesse-James Hopson (ranked 20 p4p, 13 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Hopson's choice of entrance music: Home among the gumtrees.. Jesse-James Hopson will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 19 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Greggory Silalahi! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 19 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jesse-James Hopson! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Gwen Towbar and Daniel Franklin.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Silalahi misses the shot to the body. Nice defenses there by Hopson. Silalahi misses the jab. A big right from Hopson misses. Silalahi lands with a nice body punch. Silalahi misses the jab. Silalahi jabbing away but nothing is landing. Hopson wants to counter the offense by Silalahi and move into the clinch position. Hopson jabs Silalahi to the body, keeping him at a distance. Hopson fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Silalahi manages to avoid it. Hopson walks into a stiff left hand from Silalahi. Greggory Silalahi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Silalahi is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Hopson changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Silalahi takes a swing at Hopson's ribcage but misses. A little jabbing left from Hopson on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Silalahi throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Hopson misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. This has been an exciting period of action! Hopson shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Silalahi defends it nicely.

enabling Hopson to counter with a crisp jab. Hopson doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Hopson ducks under a wild hook from Silalahi. It seemed like Hopson was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Hopson takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Silalahi looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Hopson connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Hopson takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Silalahi throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Hopson is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Silalahi throws a lazy uppercut
and Hopson cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Silalahi takes a swing at Hopson's ribcage but misses. Silalahi throws a hook but Hopson blocks it. Hopson uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Silalahi. Hopson tries to counter with a clinch but Silalahi shakes him off and moves away.

and Hopson counters with a takedown into side control. Silalahi gets back to half guard. Silalahi is trying to stand up here but Hopson is controlling him well. Hopson seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Silalahi does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hopson prevents Silalahi from improving his position. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Hopson in particular looking to stall. Hopson looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Silalahi with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Silalahi is looking for a sweep. Hopson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Silalahi wants to get back to his feet. Still in half guard, Hopson seems content to control. Hopson landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.  The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Silalahi thows a body kick. Hopson tries to catch it but that hurt him. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Hopson takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Silalahi misses with an uppercut.

Hopson shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Silalahi throws a lazy right hand but Hopson sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Hopson misses with a takedown attempt - Silalahi sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Greggory Silalahi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jesse-James Hopson. A head kick misses from Silalahi. Silalahi misses with a straight left.
Hopson shoots in and gets a takedown into Silalahi's guard. Silalahi might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Silalahi being controlled here, momentarily.
Silalahi pushes Hopson off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Hopson shoots in for a double leg but Silalahi sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Silalahi throws a hook to the side of Hopson's head but Hopson sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Silalahi on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Hopson dips down and scores with a jab to the body. A head kick by Silalahi misses and Hopson counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. A shot to the liver by Hopson. Beautiful body shot. Silalahi scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Silalahi cracks Hopson with a good jab. Hopson looks to land a right hand but Silalahi moved out of range. Silalahi misses with a straight right. The crowd cheers as Hopson lands an impressive looking overhand right. Silalahi doesn't seem phased though. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Hopson stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body. Silalahi slowing the pace effectively. Silalahi sneaks out the side door and pushes Hopson away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Hopson with a nice cross. Silalahi misses with a wild body shot.

Hopson lands with a punch from half guard. Silalahi has hold of Hopson's hands but Hopson slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Silalahi strikes from the bottom but Hopson passes into mount!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Silalahi throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing. Hopson working away from the top, dropping strikes. Silalahi swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing. Silalahi is trying to stand. Silalahi throwing hammer fists to the chest of Hopson. What's that going to do exactly? Silalahi trying desperately to get to his feet.
Hopson landing strikes from the mount and Silalahi is in trouble! Silalahi's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Hopson cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
 Silalahi is rocked! Hopson looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Oh Silalahi is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Hopson lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Silalahi hang on? Hopson postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Silalahi badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Hopson around the waist but Hopson pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Hopson is the winner by TKO! Hopson jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:59 of round 4, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jesse-James Hopson! After winning the bout, Jesse-James Hopson thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
