Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Trevor Gratis and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cunningham tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

Cunningham misses with an uppercut. Leao saw that one coming.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cunningham falls off balance throwing a combination
and Leao counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Cunningham changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Leao tries to avoid it but Cunningham manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Leao to the ground. Leao escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Leao regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Cunningham.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Leao lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Leao fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Leao avoids the body shot from Cunningham.
Leao tries to close the distance and clinch but Cunningham swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Leao uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Cunningham has time to react.
Cunningham tries to score a power double leg takedown but Leao sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Cunningham somewhat.

Leao cracks Cunningham with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Cunningham looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away� can Leao finish him?
Cunningham is rocked!
Cunningham glances at the clock... BAM! Leao nails him with a big right hand! A momentary lapse in concentration sends Cunningham crashing to the mat! The referee steps in and this one is over! Damn, Cunningham is out of it, he thinks the ref is his opponent!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 7:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Leandro Leao!
Leandro Leao decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
