Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Takeda Shida (ranked 37 p4p, 167 weight class) and Nikora Tama (ranked 8 p4p, 24 weight class). Tama has chosen Haka War Dance as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Takeda Shida!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Nikora Tama!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Shigeki Fujiwara.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tama tries for a takedown but Shida circles away easily
and Shida counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
It looks like Nikora Tama has been cut.
Tama fails with the takedown
and Shida counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Tama tries to clinch up.
A slapping leg kick lands for Shida.
Shida leaves Tama with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Shida throws a quick counter kick to the body but Tama avoids it.
Takeda Shida has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nikora Tama.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Tama goes for a double leg but Shida avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Shida continues to drive forward.
Shida tried to counter with a leg kick but Tama avoided it.
Shida walks into a stiff left hand from Tama.
Tama swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Shida throwing a counter right hand but Tama manages to avoid it.

Shida keeps the fight on the outside.
A big right from Shida misses.
Shida defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Tama.
Tama fails with a takedown attempt.
Shida scores with a leg kick.
Shida uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Tama.
Shida takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Tama is trying hard to land a takedown here. Shida sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

and Shida counters with a stiff right hand.
Tama tries to score a power double leg takedown but Shida sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Tama somewhat.
Nikora Tama seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A slow jab from Shida misses its intended target.
Shida keeps the fight on the outside.
Shida is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
Shida lands a jab to the head.
Tama shoots in for a double leg but Shida sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
An attempted straight right counter from Shida misses the target.
Shida looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Tama misses with a hook. Shida ducked under it nicely.
Takeda Shida is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Shida avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Shida tries a head kick but it misses.
Shida attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Shida lands a big right hand that sends Tama crashing to the mat! Shida stays standing though and waves Tama back to his feet!
Tama is rocked!
That has opened up Nikora Tama's cut even more.
Tama chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Shida can pounce on him.
Tama is still on wobbly legs! Can Shida finish him?
Shida throws an uppercut from hell that sends Tama clean off his feet! He's out cold! Shida stands back and admires his work as he thinks about that KO of the night award that is surely being wrapped up for him back stage.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:34 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Takeda Shida!
A very excited looking Takeda Shida made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
