Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 25 - 15 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Wally Kruschev! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 13 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Thorvald Nansen! The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, William Gold and James Ackerman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kruschev cracks Nansen with a good jab. Nansen ducks under a wild hook from Kruschev. Kruschev throws a nice inside leg kick. Wally Kruschev seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Nansen swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Nansen throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Nansen swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Kruschev throws a good cross that connects.
Nansen takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Kruschev connects with a solid leg kick. Kruschev throws a looping overhand right but Nansen ducks down to avoid it. Kruschev misses with a body kick. Kruschev then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Nansen slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Nansen fails with a takedown attempt. Kruschev is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Thud! ouch! good body kick from Nansen - that will leave a mark!

It looks like Kruschev has been trying to sharpen up his punching technique, as it looks crisper than last time we saw him. Kruschev pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Nansen on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Kruschev with a hook. Nansen is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent. Kruschev slips a straight right by Nansen. Nansen shoots for a double leg takedown but Kruschev sprawls well. Kruschev throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena. Nansen on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Nansen throws a head kick that misses. Kruschev throws a hook to the side of Nansen's head but Nansen sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Nansen steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect. Nansen misses with a takedown attempt - Kruschev sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Kruschev lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Kruschev bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Nansen shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Kruschev fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Nansen has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Nansen throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Kruschev.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nansen throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Kruschev lands with a kick to the temple. Nansen shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" Jab, jab by Kruschev - just one landing. Kruschev fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Nansen. Kruschev tries to work over Nansen's front leg with a kick but Nansen checks it. Nansen takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Nansen misses with a double jab
and Kruschev counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Kruschev waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Nansen. Kruschev with a hook. The fighters circling - Nansen throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Kruschev feints and then cracks Nansen's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Nansen down. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Nansen throws a wild body kick that Kruschev sees coming a mile off. Kruschev walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Nansen checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Nansen moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Nansen has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Kruschev finds it's way round the side to connect with Nansen's head. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Both these guys seem content to just stand up and trade with each other but Nansen might want to think about changing up his gameplan a bit because over the course of the fight, Kruschev has got the better of the exchanges. Kruschev is looking to score with low kicks. Nansen shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Kruschev defends it nicely. Kruschev tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Nansen is able to avoid easily. Nansen misses with a right hand enabling Kruschev to counter with a crisp jab. Nansen takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. The fighters circle momentarily. Kruschev darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Wally Kruschev is winning the standup battle so far. Horrible takedown attempt by Nansen or perhaps it was just good defense by Kruschev, which made it look bad. Kruschev is looking to counter punch. A slow jab from Kruschev misses its intended target. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nansen misses with a wild body shot. Kruschev lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Nansen eats them both and turns towards Kruschev to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. Nansen fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Kruschev to the ground. Nansen is now in Kruschev's guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Nansen has gone for a leg lock! Kruschev slips out almost immediately though and dives into Nansen's guard. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Nansen holds on and takes a little breather.

Kruschev slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Nansen manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Kruschev is looking to take a break and control but Nansen is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Nansen wants to control but Kruschev is keeping busy and won't allow it. And that's the end of the fight! Wally Kruschev showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Kruschev, winning every round. Will the judges agree? Christie is trying to stand up here but Alzate is controlling him well. Alzate is looking to take a break and control but Christie is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Alzate is just content to waste time from the top position. Christie takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
