The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Raak misses with an uppercut. Dredd saw that one coming.
A little jabbing left from Dredd on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Raak drops his hands momentarily and Dredd takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
A shot to the liver by Raak. Beautiful body shot.
Dredd swings for the body but Raak moves out of range.
A looping hook to the body misses from Dredd. Raak does a little dance to reset his feet.
Raak scores with a jab. Dredd acknowledges it with a nod of the head.

Dredd was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.
We've been informed that Dredd has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

Dredd lunges in with a left hook that violently twists Raak head around and knocks him out cold! Dredd hops onto the cage and yells out at the top of his lungs - Yeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaah! They're showing the replay on the big screens now; that was nasty! I hope one of the photographers got a good shot of it.

A relieved looking Brock Dredd thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.

It seemed like Zakharov was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Zakharov lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Sampson backs up against the cage.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Sampson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Zakharov swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Sampson drops Zakharov with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Zakharov looks back up at him and smiles so Sampson waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

It looks like Leonid Zakharov has been cut.

Sampson lunges in with a left hook that violently twists Zakharov head around and knocks him out cold! Sampson hops onto the cage and yells out at the top of his lungs - Yeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaah! They're showing the replay on the big screens now; that was nasty! I hope one of the photographers got a good shot of it.

After winning the bout, Douglas Sampson thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
