The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Vitalik manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Hanson on his heels. He'll look to pass Hanson's guard now, I'm sure.
Vitalik has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kardi tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Chai defends well and Kardi ends up having to push Chai into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Kardi has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Chai connects with a right hand. Kardi shakes it off.
It looks like Rudi Kardi has been cut.
Chai throws a big shot that misses.
Chai throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Kardi tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Chai swivels and escapes.
