Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 10 - 7 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Remi Johnson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 10 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Donovan Wilcox! The judges for this bout are Ben Hemmingworth, Darius Henderson and Ron Honeybunn.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Johnson blocks a jab. Wilcox turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Wilcox has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Wilcox throws an overhand right that lands on Johnson's shoulder, as Johnson tries to avoid the shot. Wilcox misses the shot to the body. Johnson swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect. Johnson shoots in but Wilcox avoids the takedown attempt easily. Wilcox stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Wilcox misses with a low kick as Johnson jumps back. and Johnson counters with a straight right hand. Johnson takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Wilcox comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Wilcox lands a jab. Johnson pushes Wilcox away with a front kick. Donovan Wilcox seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Wilcox lands a jab.

Johnson looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Donovan Wilcox is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Wilcox is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Johnson. Johnson tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Wilcox manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Wilcox pulls out of a head kick attempt.
As Wilcox looks to move away, Johnson throws a big counter combo but Wilcox just gets out of the way. Johnson lands with a kick to the temple. Wilcox shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" It looks like Donovan Wilcox has been cut. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Nice shot lands for Wilcox.

and Johnson counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Johnson scores with a crisp jab that stopped Wilcox in his tracks. Wilcox is still on wobbly legs! Can Johnson finish him? Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Johnson. Wilcox shrugs it off though. Wilcox fails to land with a series of punches.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Johnson takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Wilcox defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Johnson. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Remi Johnson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Wilcox misses with a jab, cross combination.
Johnson went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. Wilcox swats away the attempt to clinch by Johnson. A good leg kick by Wilcox. Wilcox wants to slow Johnson down by chopping away at his legs. Johnson throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Wilcox's head. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Johnson tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Johnson fails in his attempt to clinch. Wilcox dips down and scores with a jab to the body. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Donovan Wilcox dominated that round. The cut man is working on Donovan Wilcox's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Wilcox misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Johnson.

That kick from Wilcox tenderised Johnson's leg. Johnson is trying to keep his angry face on. Wilcox throws a hook to the side of Johnson's head but Johnson sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Wilcox's corner calls for a 1-2. Wilcox obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Johnson darts in looking for a takedown but Wilcox gets double underhooks and turns Johnson into the cage. Wilcox lands a nice uppercut. Wilcox throws a head punch that misses. With the two fighters working up against the cage, Wilcox just misses with a elbow thrown towards Johnson's brow. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Johnson looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Wilcox goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Wilcox slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Nice defenses there by Johnson. Wilcox walks into a jab. Johnson gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Johnson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Johnson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Wilcox swats him away and circles back towards the center. Johnson forces Wilcox back against the cage and clinches. Johnson tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Wilcox just stands there and leans against the cage. Johnson has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

That was a close second round but I would say that Remi Johnson will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Donovan Wilcox's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round! Wilcox connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Remi Johnson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Johnson has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Wilcox has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage. Johnson manages to break the clinch.

Wilcox smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Johnson doesn't manage to clinch there - Wilcox circles away.
Wilcox dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Johnson. That did some damage! Johnson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Wilcox paws at him with a jab and circles away. Wilcox has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Wilcox there as he acknowledges the shot.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Remi Johnson. I think Johnson has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
