The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bispen lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Thai circles away quickly and effectively.
Thai has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Thai bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Thai thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Bispen is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Thai asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Thai has knee on belly and moves into mount.

Thai has control of Bispen's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Bispen regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Thai will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Thai swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Bispen is now in Thai's guard. A big mistake from Thai there, giving up the dominant position!
Bispen stays in close to Thai's body and controls the position.

Thai is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Bispen defends well.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Bispen accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Bispen wants to control from the top but Thai keeps moving.

Thai pushes a forearm under Bispen's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Bispen is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
