Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Randy Wieland! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 3 - 5 - 1, fighting out of London, Edward Sleon! The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Igor Prikhodko and Aleksandr Martynov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sleon misses with a straight left. Wieland half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Sleon, as that shot connected.
A punch lands to the side of Sleon 's head but he takes it in his stride. Sleon throws a lazy uppercut
and Wieland counters with a single leg into guard. Sleon didn't expect that. Sleon looking to control.
Sleon tries to land a sweep but no joy. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Wieland accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Wieland is in close to Sleon's body, working some short punches and elbows. Sleon wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kyle Schneider! The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Sergei Dronov and Fedor Mirinova.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Schneider loads up on a big right hand but Abner slips the punch. Abner seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Schneider has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Schneider scores with a body shot.
Abner jabs Schneider right on the nose. Schneider blinks but takes it well. Abner moves out of range as Schneider strikes. Schneider throws a hook to the side of Abner's head but Abner sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. The fighters circling - River throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Mickey misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
