With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Teo King! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kyle Schneider! The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Colin Fotheringham and James Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Schneider tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but King paws at him with a jab and circles away. King slips under a jab. King tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. King throws a sloppy head kick and Schneider moves out of range easily. King tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Schneider paws at him with a jab and circles away. King with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
No joy there for Schneider, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

King had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into mush. King showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Schneider.
Schneider misses the shot to the body. King thuds a left hand into Schneider's body. Schneider tries to bum rush King with a series of wild strikes but King uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Teo King is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Schneider moves away from the strike by King. Schneider misses with an uppercut
and King counters with a nice low kick that buckles Schneider's knee momentarily. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Schneider misses with a straight left. King is looking to counter punch. King connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Schneider has been looking to improve his clinch game in recent weeks. King seems to have the measure of him in the clinch so far, so let's see if Schneider can turn it around. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! King blocks a punch to the side of the head.

With a record of 13 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Filip Yumashev! The judges for this bout are William Gold, Andrew Berry and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hatter swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Yumashev connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Hatter with a nice calf kick. Hatter's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Hatter duly obliges. Hatter throws a body punch but Yumashev moves out of range. Yumashev takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Hatter checks a leg kick nicely. Hatter misses with a few strikes there.
Hatter lands with a hook. Yumashev tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Hatter with a nice calf kick. We've been told by Hatter's head coaches at Yellow Lotus Center of Healing and Meditative Arts that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Hatter avoids the head kick by Yumashev.
Hatter fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. This has been an exciting period of action! Hatter lands a nice leg kick that just misses Yumashev's sensitive parts. Hatter will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Yumashev! But no joy. Hatter lands with an uppercut that bounces Yumashev off the cage and back into range. Hatter takes a swing at Yumashev's ribcage but misses.

and Yumashev counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. It looks like Mad Hatter has been cut. Yumashev takes one to the side of the head.

Yumashev throws a leg kick but Hatter sees it coming and moves out of range. Mad Hatter seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hatter misses with a series of wild punches.

and Yumashev counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Hatter lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Yumashev circles away quickly and effectively. Hatter ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. A low kick lands for Yumashev.
Yumashev keeps the fight on the outside. A clash of legs there as Yumashev blocks the low kick. Hatter lands with a thumping leg kick.

Yumashev uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Hatter. Sloppy strikes from Hatter. Those never looked like landing. Hatter lands a really nice looking cross but Yumashev seems unphased.

Yumashev throws an overhand right that lands on Hatter's shoulder, as Hatter tries to avoid the shot. Nice defenses there by Yumashev. Yumashev thinks about the counter body kick. Hatter lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Hatter misses with a hook. Yumashev ducked under it nicely. Yumashev throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body. Yumashev showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Hatter.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Hatter misses with a left hand and Yumashev counters with a straight that turns Hatter's legs to rubber! Yumashev pushes forward with more strikes and Hatter goes down, battered and bloody! That's a wrap folks!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sharpe looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Sharpe closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Badmus looks to move to half guard but instead Sharpe has passed into mount! Damn! Sharpe trying to control but Badmus is having none of it. Badmus is looking to improve his position but Sharpe isn't that keen on the idea. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Badmus manages to regain half guard. Good work. Badmus tries to get to full guard but Sharpe has control of the leg.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sharpe scoring with strikes to the body and head. In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Sharpe working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well. Sharpe is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Badmus sees it coming and defends easily. Sharpe prevents Badmus from improving his position. Badmus is working hard here to advance position. Sharpe lands strikes from half guard. Sharpe is trying to control. Badmus wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Badmus wants to control but Sharpe is keeping busy.
Sharpe is nestled in close to Badmus, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Badmus trying to control here.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Badmus on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Badmus looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Badmus is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Sharpe is thwarting Badmus's attempts to control the position. Sharpe is looking to take a break and control but Badmus is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Sharpe shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Badmus napping and manages to drive through into side control! You can see the frustration on Badmus's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Sharpe has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Badmus is not content to let Sharpe control the position. Sharpe lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Badmus down.

After the fight, Ola Badmus was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.

Soares doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter. Soares slaps away a takedown attempt from Jones, before circling back to the center of the mat. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
