Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Maurice Boma! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 29 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Walter Payton! The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Shigeki Sano and Yukihiro Yamamoto.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Payton slips a jab from Boma. A little jabbing left from Payton on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Boma moves out of range of the strikes. Payton throws a hook but Boma avoids it easily. Boma appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body. Payton throws a looping overhand right but Boma ducks down to avoid it. Payton throws a poor cross that misses
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Payton tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Boma paws at him with a jab and circles away. Boma throws a series of punches but Payton moves out of range. Payton throws a jab but it's blocked by Boma. Nice jab there from Payton. Payton throws a front kick aimed at Boma's knee but Boma avoids it well. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Payton lands a big right hand that sends Boma crashing to the mat! Payton stays standing though and waves Boma back to his feet!
Boma is rocked! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Boma circles to his right, straight into a beautiful hook by Payton. Boma falls face first into the canvas - great knockout victory for Payton!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Walter Payton! A very excited looking Walter Payton rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.

With a record of 26 - 27 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Thufir Hawat! The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Hirohito Nitta and Yuuki Gou.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hawat keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Norling checks a leg kick nicely. A little feinted left hand from Norling on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Hawat tries a low kick but Norling avoids it. Hawat has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Norling chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Hawat can pounce on him.

Nice shot lands for Hawat. Hawat throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Hawat, as that shot connected.
Hawat's jab looks to have found its range, popping Norling under the eye. Hawat throws a leg kick which misses Norling's front leg but catches the back leg as Norling tries to avoid it. Hawat swings away with a leg kick that misses. Hawat swings for the body but Norling moves out of range.

Norling has been working on his boxing with his coaches at London MMA Club in the buildup to the fight. Norling avoids the body shot from Hawat.

Hawat slips a straight right by Norling. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Hawat pivots, looking for a leg kick but Norling is out of range and Hawat settles back down. Norling throwing a counter right hand but Hawat manages to avoid it. Hawat lands with a right hand. Hawat throws a body kick that misses. Norling swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Hawat throws a lazy right hand but Norling sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Hawat thuds his shin into the meat of Norling's side. Hawat swings and misses with a shot to the body and Norling counters with a lovely straight right hand!
It looks like Thufir Hawat has been cut. Thufir Hawat seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Norling tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

Hawat tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Norling appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body. Hawat lands with a good body shot. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Norling chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Hawat can pounce on him.

Norling crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Hawat - the referee stops the clock and Norling gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Hawat. Norling manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Hawat listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Hawat lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hawat throws a head kick that misses. Norling swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect. Hawat throws a right and a left that Norling avoids nicely. Hawat cracks Norling with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. And that's the end of the fight! Thufir Hawat comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Hawat has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. With a record of 19 - 25 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Albert Sojka! The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Sosuke Kotani and Shigeki Fujiwara.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rainey misses with a hook. Sojka ducked under it nicely. Rainey has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Sojka finds it's way round the side to connect with Rainey's head. Rainey definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Jab, jab by Rainey - just one landing. Rainey ducks under a wild hook from Sojka. Rainey feinted with a counter takedown. Sojka keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Rainey. Rainey is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Sojka. Albert Sojka seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Sojka swings for the body but Rainey moves out of range.

Sojka is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. We are yet to see a takedown attempt from Sojka in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off. Sojka lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Sitsongrit scores with a hook to the body. And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Surianglek Sitsongrit. Well Sitsongrit has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... With a record of 31 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Cormac McCarthy! The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Shigeki Fujiwara and Yukihiro Yamamoto.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McCarthy misses with a jab to the body
and Babcock counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Babcock pivots, looking for a leg kick but McCarthy is out of range and Babcock settles back down. McCarthy doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter. Babcock with a nice calf kick. Crunch! Babcock slams his shin into McCarthy's torso. Babcock slips under a jab from McCarthy. Babcock dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on McCarthy. That did some damage! McCarthy throws a one two combo.
McCarthy misses the shot to the body. McCarthy throws a jab but it's blocked by Babcock. McCarthy moves out of range of the leg kick from Babcock. McCarthy ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Babcock moves away. Babcock swings for the body but McCarthy moves out of range.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Babcock uses good head movement to avoid the hook from McCarthy. Nice straight punches there by Babcock. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Babcock. Babcock tries to score with a low kick but McCarthy moves his leg out of the way. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that McCarthy has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. McCarthy lands a nice hook to Babcock's body. Babcock takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
 That's one minute gone in the round. A punch combination from McCarthy misses. Babcock dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Babcock takes a swing at McCarthy's ribcage but misses. McCarthy doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter. McCarthy moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Babcock uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from McCarthy. McCarthy lands a nice shot to the body.
Horrible takedown attempt by McCarthy or perhaps it was just good defense by Babcock, which made it look bad. McCarthy throws a series of punches but Babcock avoids them all with ease. Babcock ducks down and throws a hook to the body but McCarthy moves away. McCarthy looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. McCarthy looks to score with a jab to the body but Babcock is just out of range. Babcock lands with a good body shot. Babcock uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by McCarthy.
Babcock moves forwards but McCarthy connects with a nice, crisp jab. Babcock is looking to wear down McCarthy with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Babcock misses with an attempted mid kick.
Babcock scores with a slapping inside leg kick. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Babcock throws a nice inside leg kick.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Babcock jabs at McCarthy's body. Babcock throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

McCarthy closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Babcock quickly recovers to half guard. McCarthy is trying to control the action in half guard but Babcock is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. McCarthy scoring with strikes to the body and head. McCarthy trying to control from half guard but Babcock is working away. Babcock has hold of McCarthy's hands but McCarthy slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. McCarthy is taking a breather. Babcock says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Babcock gets full guard. McCarthy lands a couple of digs.

 The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Babcock throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

 That's four minutes gone in the round. Babcock is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Babcock seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission. McCarthy wants to control from the top but Babcock keeps moving. McCarthy is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Babcock is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. McCarthy is working Babcock over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. McCarthy forces his way into half guard. McCarthy drops an elbow to the side of Babcock's head. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Jim Babcock will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

Babcock manages to regain half guard. Good work. McCarthy passes to side control. Babcock gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Jim Babcock will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Babcock manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! McCarthy tries to roll over but Babcock keeps him under control. McCarthy is holding on to half guard well. Babcock wants to take a breather but McCarthy is having none of it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. McCarthy manages to get to full guard.

 That's one minute gone in the round. Babcock working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Babcock keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of McCarthy's head. Babcock preventing the sweep. Babcock being controlled here momentarily. Babcock trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. McCarthy is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

 That's two minutes gone in the round. McCarthy is keen to just control but Babcock is a slippery customer. McCarthy uses his free foot to push down on Babcock's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Babcock. McCarthy in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.

McCarthy is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Babcock defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined. McCarthy has his opponent trapped and is landing shots. Not a good position for Babcock. Babcock tries to escape but McCarthy has the hooks in and won't let him break free. Babcock is working hard here to advance position. Will McCarthy go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! McCarthy utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
