Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 31 - 20 - 2, fighting out of Montreal, Ethan Hawk! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 21 - 37 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Tayaen Porfirigo! The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Bruno Lombardi and Reed Andrews.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hawk tries to score with a low kick but Porfirigo moves his leg out of the way. Porfirigo swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Hawk swings for the body but Porfirigo moves out of range.
Porfirigo lands a glancing blow to the side of Hawk's head. Hawk misses with a hook
and Porfirigo counters with a stiff right hand. A looping hook to the body misses from Hawk. Porfirigo does a little dance to reset his feet. Hawk tries a head kick but it misses.
Porfirigo moves away from the strike by Hawk. Hawk rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Porfirigo cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Ethan Hawk seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hawk misses with a hook. Porfirigo ducked under it nicely. Hawk works the jab nicely. Porfirigo closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Hawk keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Porfirigo stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Hawk to get to his feet. Porfirigo shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Porfirigo has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
That's one minute gone in the round. Porfirigo wants to work for an arm triangle but Hawk is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Porfirigo is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Hawk! Porfirigo tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Porfirigo working away from the top, dropping strikes. Porfirigo can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Hawk is looking to escape.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Porfirigo throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage. Porfirigo stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Porfirigo checks a leg kick. Hawk throws a jab when Porfirigo was well out of range. Hawk scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Porfirigo doesn't seem bothered though. Hawk throws a hook but Porfirigo blocks it. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Porfirigo! But no joy. Hawk misses the shot to the body. Hawk thows a body kick. Porfirigo tries to catch it but that hurt him. Porfirigo avoids a kick to the body.
Porfirigo rushes Hawk and presses him up against the cage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hawk breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Porfirigo keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Hawk. Hawk missing with a left hand there. Porfirigo was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. A shot to the liver by Hawk. Beautiful body shot. Porfirigo shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Porfirigo bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Porfirigo is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Hawk knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Porfirigo trying to control the position but Hawk is working away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Porfirigo looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Hawk knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Porfirigo on the ground. Hawk is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Hawk trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Tayaen Porfirigo will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Hawk misses with a head kick.
Porfirigo changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Hawk lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. Hawk misses with a shot to the body and Porfirigo counters by moving into the clinch. Hawk is pressed up against the cage. Porfirigo has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Hawk down to the mat. Hawk avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Porfirigo has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight. Porfirigo tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Hawk paws at him with a jab and circles away. Hawk lands a head kick. Porfirigo smiles back at him and beckons him forward. Hawk misses with a few strikes there.
Porfirigo shapes to counter with a head kick. A telegraphed right hand from Hawk misses the target. Tayaen Porfirigo is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Hawk throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Porfirigo moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Porfirigo lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
It looks like Ethan Hawk has been cut. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Hawk scores with a leg kick.
The fight stays on the outside here - Porfirigo looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hawk thows a leg kick but Porfirigo checks it and Porfirigo holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Porfirigo is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Hawk breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Hawk misses with a double jab
and Porfirigo counters with a nice double leg into side control. Hawk won't be happy with that. Porfirigo wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Hawk, who protects the arm well. Porfirigo looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Hawk is avoiding damage well.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Porfirigo stands up and we're back to a striking position. Hawk works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Porfirigo blocks a head kick by Hawk.
Hawk gets caught napping as Porfirigo dives in and scores a takedown. Hawk manages to retain guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Porfirigo in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Porfirigo is working Hawk over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hawk has a closed guard, preventing Porfirigo from standing up. Porfirigo's corner is telling him to maintain position. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Porfirigo accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Porfirigo missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Porfirigo throws a strike but Hawk rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Porfirigo is pulling down on Hawk's head. It's preventing any offense from Hawk, at least for the moment.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Porfirigo wants to stand but Hawk is controlling the position. Porfirigo tries to land a sweep but no joy. Porfirigo is trying to keep Hawk in close.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Hawk, as that shot connected.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Ethan Hawk dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Ethan Hawk's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
Porfirigo closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Hawk's guard. Porfirigo throwing strikes but missing. Porfirigo pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Hawk is keeping the position for now. Tayaen Porfirigo has got the better of the ground game so far. Porfirigo working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Porfirigo trying to control but Hawk is working from the bottom. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Porfirigo prevents Hawk from getting back to his feet. Porfirigo throws a strike but Hawk rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Porfirigo has control of Hawk's left arm, preventing Hawk from doing any damage. Hawk stopping the sweep attempt from Porfirigo.

That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Hawk with a nice cross. Hawk pivots, looking for a leg kick but Porfirigo is out of range and Hawk settles back down. Both fighters circling a little - Hawk finishes the exchange with a kick to the body. A low kick from Hawk misses and Porfirigo decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Hawk's guard. Porfirigo trying to stand up but can't free himself from Hawk's guard. Porfirigo missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Hawk is looking to stand up but Porfirigo isn't so interested in that idea.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Porfirigo stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hawk swivels though and keeps the full guard. Porfirigo is still trying to improve position. Porfirigo wants to control from the top but Hawk keeps moving. Hawk is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Porfirigo is controlling him.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Porfirigo stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Hawk. Ethan Hawk is winning the standup battle so far.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Hawk throws a body shot but no joy. Porfirigo wants to counter the offense by Hawk and move into the clinch position. Hawk swats away the attempt to clinch by Porfirigo. Porfirigo ducks under a wild hook from Hawk. And Porfirigo tries to counter it with a takedown but Hawk pushes his down on his head and steps out. Porfirigo throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Hawk was covering up waiting for the punch and Porfirigo finishes the takedown easily into guard. Porfirigo slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Porfirigo decides to take the fight back to the feet. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Porfirigo shoots in looking for a takedown but Hawk manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Porfirigo's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Tayaen Porfirigo. I think Porfirigo has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Whether he deserves the shot will be up to the management of the organization, so I guess he'll have to wait and see. In defeat, Ethan Hawk stepped up to the mic, saying 'In the end he fought like a 'Gentleman', true to his nickname, respecting his mate's money maker.'.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Edmonds dives in and grabs Schneider's left leg, looking for a takedown. Schneider pushes down on Edmonds's head and hops out. Edmonds gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Schneider. Schneider misses with a body shot.

Edmonds is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Edmonds seems to have got his legs back now. Schneider stands up over Edmonds, holding his feet. Kyle Schneider dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Edmonds throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

"I don't think so" says Murray as he avoids it easily. Lee Murray has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Honza Hohol. Hohol takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Honza Hohol seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Murray cracks Hohol with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Murray has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Hohol to stand back up! Hohol is rocked! Look low, kick high! Murray uses the oldest trick in the book to send Hohol tumbling to the canvas, in a truly brutal knockout! Murray is absolutely delighted - when Hohol wakes up, I doubt he'll be quite so happy!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lange is looking to clinch but Howlett is avoiding it.

Talvela is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Romano scores with a couple of nice shots. Romano slips a nice elbow through Talvela's hands, connecting with Talvela's forehead. Talvela is rocked! Romano looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Oh Talvela is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Romano's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Vic Romano is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Talvela looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Talvela seems to have got his legs back now. Romano prevents Talvela from improving his position. Romano landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
And that's the end of the fight! Vic Romano comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Romano has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today.
