Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Zekariays Solomon (ranked 2029 p4p, 2094 weight class) and Beibitzhan Zhanbolatov (ranked 244 p4p, 252 weight class). Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 21 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Zekariays Solomon! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Beibitzhan Zhanbolatov! The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Nard Betker and Albert Achterberg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Solomon stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Solomon closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Zhanbolatov keeping hold of Solomon's head, controlling as best he can. Solomon seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Zhanbolatov does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Zhanbolatov is trying to maintain the position but Solomon is very close to passing his half guard. Solomon is controlling the pace.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Zhanbolatov is refusing to be controlled, as Solomon sits in half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Zhanbolatov tries to roll over but Solomon keeps him under control.

Solomon bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Solomon misses with a takedown attempt - Zhanbolatov sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Solomon closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Zhanbolatov lands a left hand that snaps the head of Solomon backwards. Zhanbolatov misses with a punch to the body.

Solomon throws a right hand that Zhanbolatov ducks under and follows up with a left that Zhanbolatov also avoids with ease. Zhanbolatov throws an overhand right that lands on Solomon's shoulder, as Solomon tries to avoid the shot. A low kick lands for Solomon.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Jab, jab by Zhanbolatov - just one landing. Solomon throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Solomon lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Solomon avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Zhanbolatov throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Zhanbolatov throws a lazy right hand but Solomon sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Solomon throws a hook but Zhanbolatov avoids it easily. Solomon seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym. Solomon scores with a takedown into Zhanbolatov's guard. Solomon missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Zhanbolatov has control of Solomon's left arm, preventing Solomon from doing any damage. Solomon throws an elbow that misses. Zhanbolatov uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Solomon's guard. Nice move by Zhanbolatov!
Solomon had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Zhanbolatov defends it easily. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Zekariays Solomon will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. Zhanbolatov keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Zhanbolatov keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Zhanbolatov ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Solomon moves away. Solomon shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Solomon showed some decent athleticism there. Zhanbolatov controlling the position for now. Solomon has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Zhanbolatov is not content to let Solomon control the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kalambay throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Hidaka is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own. Kalambay ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Hidaka moves away.

With a record of 15 - 7 - 1, fighting out of London, Willie Dixon! The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Daniel Blasius and Paul Aken.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dixon closes the distance and clinches. Furioto turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Furioto manages to end up in side control. Furioto working the ground and pound but Dixon is defending the strikes. Dixon tries to buck Furioto off but Furioto is having none of it. Furioto is trying to get an arm triangle but Dixon is defending well. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. You can see the frustration on Dixon's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Furioto has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Furioto tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Furioto has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Dixon is trying to improve his position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dixon is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Furioto off and has taken his back!

We've been hearing good reports from Furioto's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Dixon working for a choke but Furioto reverses nicely into Dixon 's guard. Furioto really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. It's a sloppy attempt though and Furioto jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Dixon working for a triangle but Furioto defends it easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Furioto got a little sloppy there for a moment and Dixon has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Furioto has managed to get both his arms back between Dixon's legs - danger averted. Dixon has his foot on Furioto's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Furioto works his way back into a safe position though. Dixon not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Furioto lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Dixon has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Furioto can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Dixon utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Furioto avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Furioto landing some decent shots from guard. Furioto postures up in Dixon's guard and throws a big left but Dixon blocks it. Furioto is sitting in close to Dixon's body. Dixon has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Furioto is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Furioto is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Dixon.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Carvalho shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Longabaugh is trying to defend but Carvalho finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Longabaugh knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Carvalho on the ground. Carvalho sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Longabaugh defending well though. Longabaugh wants to get back to full guard. Carvalho has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Carvalho has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
