Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lane Hedley (ranked 2888 p4p, 23735 weight class) and Bubba Stylez (ranked 335 p4p, 538 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Lane Hedley! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bubba Stylez! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Ian Loll and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hedley takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Hedley doesn't succeed with the takedown and Stylez counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Hedley fails with the takedown. Hedley throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Stylez's waist but Stylez gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Hedley off to one side. And Stylez tries to counter it with a takedown but Hedley pushes his down on his head and steps out. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lane Hedley. That's going to take a lot out of him. Hedley dives in and grabs Stylez's left leg, looking for a takedown. Stylez pushes down on Hedley's head and hops out. Stylez comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Stylez gets tackled into the cage by Hedley. Hedley maintains the clinch. Stylez can't get the takedown.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hedley is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Stylez can't find room to land a body shot as Hedley controls the action.

Hedley wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch. Stylez lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Stylez scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Stylez looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Stylez taking a breather here. Hedley has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Stylez finds it's way round the side to connect with Hedley's head. Lane Hedley seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Stylez keeps the fight on the outside. Stylez throws a looping overhand right but Hedley ducks down to avoid it. God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Hedley is figuring out what he wants to do next. Lane Hedley has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Bubba Stylez is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Stylez keeping hold of Hedley's head, controlling as best he can.
And that's the end of the fight! Bubba Stylez comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Stylez has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. Greyson goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Kasparas scores with a nice strike. Greyson throws a hook but Kasparas avoids it easily. Kasparas uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Greyson. A jab from Greyson finds it's way through Kasparas's defenses. That has opened up Gwendylyn Kasparas's cut even more. The fighters circling - Kasparas throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Greyson closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Manfred throws a right hand that Wahlstroem ducks under and follows up with a left that Wahlstroem also avoids with ease. Wahlstroem tries a quick counter leg kick but Manfred is wise to it. Wahlstroem moves out of range of the strikes. Manfred throws a jab but it's blocked by Wahlstroem. Wahlstroem takes a swing at Manfred's ribcage but misses. Wahlstroem smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Wahlstroem fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Zigor Azarola (ranked 209 p4p, 317 weight class) and Jimmy Jackman (ranked 16 p4p, 23 weight class). Azarola comes to the cage accompanied by Million Shattered Swords by Witchrot. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 20 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Zigor Azarola! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 15 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jimmy Jackman! The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, William Peck and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Azarola throws a low kick, looking for Jackman's leg but Jackman calmly moves out of range. Jackman slips a jab from Azarola. Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 12 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jonas Karlsson! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 14 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Grant Hyde! The judges for this bout are William Peck, Elvis Blanc and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Karlsson gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. It looks like Jonas Karlsson has been cut. Hyde throws a low kick but it's checked well by Karlsson. Hyde jabs at Karlsson's body. Hyde misses with a kick to the body.
Hyde misses with a straight left. It looked like Karlsson wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Hyde wants to land a leg kick but Karlsson is out of range. Karlsson lands with a nice body punch. Hyde's corner calls for a 1-2. Hyde obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Hyde thuds his shin into the meat of Karlsson's side. Hyde connects with a body shot that sends Karlsson's belly button to the back. Hyde with a body punch. A glancing blow. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Karlsson moves out of range of the strikes. Karlsson takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Hyde throws an off balance right hand
and Karlsson counters with a lovely straight right hand! Karlsson misses with a head kick.
Hyde has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hyde misses with a shot to the body letting Karlsson counter with a right hand. Hyde misses with an uppercut
and Karlsson counters with a nice uppercut. Hyde misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Hyde looks to land a left hand but Karlsson moved out of range nicely. Grant Hyde seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hyde misses with a hook. Karlsson ducked under it nicely. Karlsson lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Hyde backs up against the cage.

and Karlsson counters with a stiff right hand. Hyde misses with a hook
and Karlsson counters with a nice low kick that buckles Hyde's knee momentarily. Karlsson feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Hyde sprawling to the canvas! Hyde rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Karlsson finish him?!
Hyde is rocked! This has been an exciting period of action! Hyde throws an overhand right that lands on Karlsson's shoulder, as Karlsson tries to avoid the shot. Hyde slips a straight right by Karlsson.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Karlsson tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Hyde was well out of range. Poor timing from Karlsson. Hyde throws a leg kick and Karlsson counters with a crisp one two that drops Hyde! Karlsson thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Hyde to his feet! Hyde is in big trouble! Hyde is still on wobbly legs! Can Karlsson finish him? Hyde throws a head kick that misses and Karlsson counters with a crisp right that sends Hyde to the canvas! Karlsson follows up with punches from the mount and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jonas Karlsson! Jonas Karlsson retains his middleweight title! Jonas Karlsson decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.

Kuomanen comes to the cage accompanied by HonestKey - One Shot. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

With a record of 27 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ahjo Kuomanen! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 14 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Suga Diabeetus! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Alec Ball and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kuomanen smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Kuomanen misses with a hook. Diabeetus ducked under it nicely. A little jabbing left from Diabeetus on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Diabeetus throws a hook but Kuomanen blocks it. Kuomanen blocks a jab. Diabeetus wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Diabeetus misses the shot to the body. Diabeetus lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Kuomanen darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Kuomanen throws a hook but Diabeetus blocks it. Kuomanen keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Diabeetus. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kuomanen misses the shot to the body. Diabeetus swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. A big left from Diabeetus misses. Diabeetus misses the shot to the body. Kuomanen tries to counter with a takedown but Diabeetus is quick to defend against it. Kuomanen takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kuomanen slips a straight right by Diabeetus. Nice defenses there by Kuomanen. Kuomanen attempts a counter takedown but Diabeetus avoids it well and moves away. Kuomanen avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Suga Diabeetus seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kuomanen swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Kuomanen throws a shot from downtown. Diabeetus moves away and avoids it. Kuomanen misses with a straight left. Diabeetus looks like he wants to counter punch here. Kuomanen throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Diabeetus tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Kuomanen is in Diabeetus's guard. Kuomanen trying to control the position from guard on top but Diabeetus is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kuomanen stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Diabeetus swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kuomanen trying to control the position from guard on top but Diabeetus is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Kuomanen definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Kuomanen wants to pass the guard but Diabeetus is keeping the position. Kuomanen scoring with some ground and pound. Kuomanen pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Diabeetus is keeping the position for now. Kuomanen is looking to advance position but Diabeetus has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kuomanen keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Diabeetus really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kuomanen. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Diabeetus wants to get back to his feet but Kuomanen is holding on tight.
Kuomanen tries to reverse the position but Diabeetus maintains control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Kuomanen tries to hold on but Diabeetus postures up. Diabeetus prevents Kuomanen from getting the reversal. Kuomanen tries to hold on but Diabeetus pushes him away. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's five minutes gone in the round. Kuomanen is trying to escape the mount.
Kuomanen manages to regain half guard. Good work. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Kuomanen moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Kuomanen has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Diabeetus should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Kuomanen has tightened it up now! Diabeetus should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 5:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Ahjo Kuomanen! Ahjo Kuomanen retains his heavyweight title! An out of breath Ahjo Kuomanen thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
