and Howard decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Mahogany's guard.
Mahogany has his feet on Howard's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Rich Mahogany seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Howard keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Mahogany feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. As Bandolero backs off Rizzo throws a huge counter combo but Bandolero manages to avoid it all. We've been hearing reports that Bandolero has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Rizzo throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Bandolero stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Bandolero needs to keep his hands up - Rizzo had a free shot at his head there.

 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jacckson lands with a right hand. Nik lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Jacckson slips under a jab. Nik connects with a body shot that sends Jacckson's belly button to the back. Nik swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Jacckson takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Nik connects with a jab. A looping hook to the body misses from Nik. I was talking to Jacckson's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Nik prevents the takedown attempt.
