With a record of 12 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Aqissiac Jacira! The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Shigeki Fujiwara.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tama tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Jacira paws at him with a jab and circles away. We've been hearing reports that Tama has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Tama changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Jacira looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Tama wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jacira keeps working. Jacira isn't going anywhere. Tama tries to score with some ground and pound. Jacira controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Jacira is looking for a sweep. Tama lands a few punches from side control. Tama connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Jacira some visible discomfort.
Jacira is not content to let Tama control the position. Jacira tries to buck Tama off but Tama is having none of it. Tama wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jacira keeps working. Jacira on the wrong end of some ground and pound.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Tama seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Tama seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Jacira does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Tama uses his free foot to push down on Jacira's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Jacira. Jacira is wriggling around trying to escape.

 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kai just misses with a punch to the body.
Matikainen slips a jab and a cross from Kai.
Kai throws a head kick that misses and Kai takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. A big right from Matikainen misses. Kai is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Matikainen with a body shot. Kai has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Kai misses with a jab, cross combination.
A head kick by Kai misses and Matikainen counters with a nice leg kick. Matikainen displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Kai throws out the jab. Matikainen punishes Kai's body with a nice straight punch. Kai circles away from the clinch attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kai keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Kai throws a hook to the side of Matikainen's head but Matikainen sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Kai lands with a nice combination. Matikainen backs away looking to recover. A big right from Matikainen misses. Kai throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. A left and a right from Kai both land. Nice combination. Kai lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Kai lands a lovely overhand right. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Kai misses with a jab to the body

Kai slips under a jab. Kai looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Matikainen misses with a wild body shot. Matikainen misses with a low kick.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. A good leg kick by Matikainen. Kai throws the left hand but Matikainen avoids the punch easily. Matikainen went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. Matikainen throws a head kick that misses. A nice side step and Kai releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home. Matikainen tries a low kick but Kai avoids it. Kai scores with a jab. Matikainen avoids the body shot from Kai.

Nice straight punches there by Hidaka. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Hidaka. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. No joy there for Lalime, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
