Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Aljosa Medeiros (ranked 1639 p4p, 3376 weight class) and Ziggy Ozbourne (ranked 172 p4p, 326 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Medeiros might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Sidequest - Chime. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 16 - 18 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Aljosa Medeiros! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 26 - 16 - 2, fighting out of Montreal, Ziggy Ozbourne! The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Thiago Cunha and Luis Engracia.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A head kick by Ozbourne misses and Medeiros counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Ozbourne thinking.
Ozbourne forces Medeiros back against the cage and clinches. Medeiros has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Ozbourne is looking to break free of the clinch but Medeiros has double underhooks. Medeiros working aggressively here.

It looks like Ziggy Ozbourne has been cut. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Medeiros punishes Ozbourne's body with a nice straight punch. Ozbourne doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Ozbourne tries to clinch but Medeiros is having none of it. Ozbourne breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Medeiros missing with a left hand there. Ozbourne was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Ozbourne looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Medeiros. Medeiros trying to control the position but Ozbourne is working away. The strikes coming from Medeiros are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Medeiros working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Medeiros working the ground and pound but Ozbourne is defending the strikes. Medeiros cracks Ozbourne with an elbow. That is naaassty. Ozbourne is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Medeiros has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Medeiros remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. The ground and pound from Medeiros seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Medeiros throws a strike aimed at the side of Ozbourne's head but Ozbourne avoids it well. Medeiros in side control, throwing shots but Ozbourne defends. Check out the look on Medeiros's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Ozbourne is not content to let Medeiros control the position.

 That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Medeiros is nestled in close to Ozbourne, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Medeiros takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Medeiros wants to take a breather but Ozbourne is having none of it. Medeiros thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Ozbourne's head. Medeiros is looking to take a break and control but Ozbourne is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Ozbourne on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.  The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tucker looks to land a combination. Alcindor sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Tucker lands a nice looking body shot.
Alcindor stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Tucker. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Alcindor is defended easily by Tucker.
Tucker closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Alcindor's guard. Tucker looking to pass the guard. Tucker engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Tucker trying to control the position from guard on top but Alcindor is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Tucker looking to pass the guard. Tucker controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Alcindor not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
 The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Tucker stuns Alcindor with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Tucker closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Alcindor to the mat! Alcindor manages to get full guard. Tucker trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Tucker not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Alcindor tries to improve his position but instead Tucker has taken his back!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Martin enables Valerio to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Martin manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Swole Ricky Martin has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Ernesto Valerio is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Valerio sitting in guard, not really doing much.

 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Acerbi moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Jovonovich takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Acerbi keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

 We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Acerbi wants to free his trapped foot but Jovonovich is holding on for dear life with his legs. Acerbi not doing much here.

 That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Acerbi is working for a kimura but Jovonovich is defending it quite comfortably.
Jovonovich throws a sloppy strike from the bottom. He's now off balance and Acerbi manages to pass to side control.
Acerbi is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Jovonovich is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Jovonovich is trying to get back to half guard. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Acerbi trying to control the action but Jovonovich is working from the bottom. Jovonovich is trying to improve his position. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Acerbi jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Jovonovich manages to avoid the submission attempt. Jovonovich is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Jovonovich prevents Acerbi from improving position. Acerbi moves into full mount! Acerbi trying to control but he's not successful this time. Acerbi content just to control the position here. Jovonovich looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back!

 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Yordan throws an overhand right that lands on Knightley's shoulder, as Knightley tries to avoid the shot. Yordan throws a shot from downtown. Knightley moves away and avoids it. The fighters circling - Yordan throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Yordan fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Flynn Knightley seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Knightley is defended easily by Yordan. Yordan swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Knightley will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Yordan half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Knightley fails with a takedown attempt. Daud Yordan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Flynn Knightley. Yordan slaps away a takedown attempt from Knightley, before circling back to the center of the mat. Yordan stands and steps away. Knightley gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Knightley has his takedown stuffed and Yordan counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Daud Yordan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Flynn Knightley. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Yordan lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Knightley at a distance.

Knightley tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Yordan defends well and Knightley ends up having to push Yordan into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. The fighters circling - Yordan throws out the jab but it was never going to land. A chopping leg kick lands by Yordan. Yordan misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Knightley.
Yordan thuds his shin into the meat of Knightley's side. Yordan scores with the left hand. Knightley knows he should have avoided that one. Yordan throws a hook but Knightley blocks it. Yordan ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Yordan fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. We've been told by Yordan's head coaches at Champion Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Yordan rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Knightley moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Yordan dips to his left and cracks Knightley with an uppercut! Knightley shoots and misses
and Yordan counters by clinching up. Knightley jumps guard but Yordan stands there with Knightley around his waist. Knightley gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Knightley has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Yordan is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. A short right from Yordan. Yordan lands a right hand that snaps the head of Knightley backwards. Yordan lands a hook to the side of the head.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. A short right from Yordan on the inside. Yordan lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Yordan is leaning against Knightley and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.

Knightley throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Yordan on the side of the head. Knightley looks to throw the jab but Yordan is out of range. Yordan ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Knightley moves away.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Yordan scores with a hook to the body. Knightley takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Knightley throws a big shot that misses. Yordan tries a head kick but it misses.

Daud Yordan overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Knightley is in close to Yordan's body, working some short punches and elbows. Yordan keeping moving, preventing Knightley from controlling successfully. Yordan tries to strike from the bottom.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Knightley makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Yordan will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Knightley acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Knightley shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
